“Yoga adds years to your life and life to your years”

To emphasize the necessity of yoga in this contemporary era, The United Nations mandated June 21 to be celebrated as International Yoga Day. The day is marked to raise awareness of the benefits of Yoga and its effect on our “physical, mental, and spiritual” state thus helping people around the world to lead a healthier lifestyle. This year, International Yoga Day focuses on well-being beyond the immediate impact on physical health.

The theme of 2024 “Yoga for Self and Society”, couldn’t be more fitting for our times. In 2024, as we grapple with various challenges, yoga offers a powerful tool for individual and collective well-being. For one’s self, Yoga’s combination of physical postures (asanas), breathing exercises (pranayama), and meditation techniques can significantly reduce stress and anxiety, promoting emotional resilience. Yoga encourages introspection and self-awareness, helping individuals connect with their inner selves and find purpose. This can lead to greater fulfillment and a more meaningful life. Yoga emphasizes ethical principles like non-violence and respect. As individuals practice these values, they can create a more compassionate and harmonious society.

International Yoga Day

Before delving deep into the benefits of Yoga, let’s have a crisp look into the origin of International Yoga Day.

Origin of International Yoga Day

The idea of marking a day as International Day of Yoga was first proposed by our Honourable Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi during his speech at the United Nations General Assembly in 2014. He emphasized Yoga as an “invaluable gift of India’s ancient tradition” and a bridge of “harmony between man and nature”.

On 11 December 2014, Mr Ashok Mukherjee, India Permanent Representative to the UN presented the draft resolution in the United General Assembly. The resolution garnered huge support from 177 Member States, the highest number of co-sponsors ever for any such UNGA Resolution. Since then June 21 was proclaimed as the International Day of Yoga.

Reserve Bank of India in 2015, issued a 10 rupees commemorative coin to mark International Yoga Day. Thereafter in April 2017, United Nation Postal Administration or UNPA too issued 10 stamps on Asanas on a single sheet to mark Yoga Day. Also to mark the commemoration of the 7th International Day of Yoga in 2021, the Department of Posts or India Post decided to launch a ‘Special Cancellation’ stamp to capture the essence of World Yoga Day. Besides this, June 21 is also the longest day in the Northern Hemisphere and is called the Summer Solstice.

Some Yoga Institutes

Yoga is becoming popular in the world today, with many nations practicing it. It is widely practiced for health and relaxation. There are institutes that will teach you various yoga asanas. Some of them are listed below.

  1. Parmarth Niketan Ashram – Rishikesh, Uttarakhand
  2. Isha Yoga Center- Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu
  3. Ananda in the Himalayas –  Garhwal, Narendra Nagar, Uttarakhand
  4. Ashtanga Yoga Research Institute – Gokulam, Mysore
  5. The Art of Living Ashram, Bangalore
  6. Bihar School of Yoga, Munger

Significance of Yoga in this Stressful Lifestyle

The lifestyle that we are living in is so stressful and competitive that if we fall short on any front the loss occurred is enormous. With so many responsibilities, long working hours and busy schedules, we forget what happiness is all about. To maintain a balance between our personnel and professional front we must have a healthy and mental wellness balance. As said “Health is not everything, but without health everything is nothing”. So here comes why making yoga a part of our daily life is essential.

  • Yoga promotes self-healing besides increasing self-awareness
  • Boost immunity and removes toxins from the body
  • Increased concentration and focus
  • Reduces stress level and tension in the body
  • Increases muscle strength and flexibility
  • Lowers blood pressure and risk of heart diseases
  • Improves brain function and lung capacity
  • Yoga can help reduce anxiety
  • Practising yoga could help in decreasing symptoms of depression
  • Practising yoga can help reduce many types of chronic pain that affects millions of people globally

Well, the benefits of including yoga in our daily lifestyle are immense and a single article is not enough to represent all its benefits. So on this International Day of Yoga make a resolution to yourself that Yoga will be a part of your daily routine.

Besides this June 21 is also World Hydrography Day. This day highlights the importance of hydrography which is the science of surveying and charting water bodies. The theme for 2024 is “Hydrographic Information – Enhancing Safety, Efficiency and Sustainability in Marine Activities”. INS Sandhayak, the Indian Navy’s oldest Hydrographic Survey Vessel got decommissioned on 04 June 2021 after serving the nation for 40 glorious years.

June 21 is also celebrated as World Music Day. Also known as Fête de la Musique in France, where its birth took place in 1982. Since then it has been celebrated globally to promote young and amateur musicians to perform and show their talent. Concerts are held for all budding musicians to promote their talent through music no matter which heritage or background they belong to as music lovers feel- “There is music for every mood and every soul”.

ixamBee wishes every aspirant a Happy International Yoga Day with the hope that you will beat these stressful times by healthily synchronizing all your efforts to achieve what you truly aspire for. How to prepare efficiently for IBPS AFO changing exam pattern in this competitive era

The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts the Agriculture Field Officer (AFO) examination to recruit eligible candidates for agricultural banking roles. The IBPS announced a change in the exam pattern for the AFO examination, which necessitates a revamped preparation strategy. This is important for aspiring candidates go through the changes in the exam pattern and provide an effective preparation strategy to succeed in the IBPS AFO examination.

Lets take a little recap: From 2015 to 2020, IBPS AFO has evolved its syllabus or exam pattern faster than any exam, especially for mains or agriculture part. From 2015-2017 when there was only one exam, the agriculture part was a more conceptual type. In 2017 the paper was a little bit tough compared to earlier years as it consisted of questions from various allied sciences viz. animal husbandry, food science, farm power and machinery and few questions from current agriculture but there was a very great change from 2018 onwards.

Firstly, the exam was divided into Prelims and Mains, secondly, Mains (agriculture) questions were very different from the previous year as maximum questions from NABARD, schemes, subsidy, ICAR, Agriculture allied parts were asked instead of  conceptual agriculture which puzzled students who prepared by going through previous year pattern. Current Agriculture news and questions from NABARD, Subsidy and schemes are becoming a major focus in IBPS SO AFO exam. So, it becomes a very big challenge to cover this IBPS SO AFO exam pattern and syllabus and look for the “source” from where to get quality material.

Major areas of concern for AFO aspirants

  1. Syllabus
  2. Source to cover the syllabus
  3. Paper is now similar to NABARD ARD section
  4. Preparation strategy for this comprehensive syllabus
  5. How to get the facts and what to read in lengthy reports of various departments?
  6. What is the limit of current agriculture?
  7. How to get schemes, subsidy type questions and how to retain the data
  8. How to study conceptual agriculture part
  9. How to cover syllabus to ensure the selection
  10. Interview question related to agriculture

How to Approach the mentioned concerns

Given below is the detailed approach for every point mentioned above-

  • Syllabus- Here we will discuss the IBPS SO AFO Mains exam pattern. As per the last two-year paper trend, it is seen that about forty percent paper consists of agriculture conceptual along with allied subjects and current agriculture.
  • Conceptual agriculture -questions from agronomy, soil science, horticulture, agriculture extension and economics
  • Allied agriculture – questions from animal husbandry, poultry science, fisheries, farm power and machinery, agro forestry, food science etc.
  • Current agriculture – it consists of very comprehensive part
  • Latest and important Agriculture schemes
  • NABARD finance schemes and subsidies
  • Bankable Agriculture projects
  • ICAR recent developments and news
  • Production data
  • Source to cover IBPS SO AFO syllabus- Till now in the market, there is no specific book which covers all the above-mentioned topics or syllabus. One needs to study these topics from various sources which must be authentic and latest, so  we will discuss source for each topic below: –
  • For conceptual agriculture:–
  • fundamentals of agriculture by Arun Katyayan part 1 & 2
  • General agriculture by Nem Raj Sunda
  • Objective book by Muniraj Singh Rathore
  • For allied agriculture: –
  • Agriculture at a glance by R K Sharma
  • TNAU notes
  • Current agriculture for above mentioned syllabus
  • Annual budget of Union Government 2020-21
  • NABARD annual report and updates of NABARD from its site
  • From Nabard or the notes
  • Icar.org and its latest updates
  • For recent data reliable source is PIB

So it is the source to cover all the topics, besides this, there are many other sites and reports which are important

  • Now the query of many of the students who also aspire for higher and prestigious exam like NABARD- the ARD section is similar, so how to complete syllabus so that preparation for both the exam can be done simultaneously is a big concern, and as per last three year exam pattern, NABARD Prelims ARD section and AFO agriculture part is quite similar as both the paper consist of current agriculture, current production data and allied part. So if you cover the above mentioned syllabus with above sources you almost have maximum coverage but not 100% as you cannot cover the whole agriculture graduation syllabus from these 2-3 books and also these books are for the preparation of JRF exams not designed for banking.  As there is no special book so you can refer to them for concept and for special notes of conceptual which form an important part of the IBPS AFO exam, you can go for ixamBee high quality material.
  • Now if we talk about the preparation strategy for the IBPS SO AFO exam, you need to cover your conceptual agriculture first and then current agriculture. Many times it is seen that many good students remain busy with covering agriculture conceptual part ignoring the current agriculture which cost their selection, so a balance must be there in both parts. As far as good strategy is concerned, first focus on Agriculture conceptual part ( no deep knowledge is required) and secondly, two months are sufficient to cover current agriculture part, however, regress study on current agriculture must be started prior to one month of exam. If you analyse the recent Preliminary exam of NABARD, questions on current agriculture were 15 to 20 days prior to the exam. So one-month current affairs regarding agriculture, ICAR, NABARD is very important.
  • RBI Grade B exam is really a very good exam for a very formidable post, so it requires knowledge of RBI reports, IMF reports etc. but as IBPS AFO is concern there is no such requirement of these report even if you skip the NABARD annual report it won’t give much impact on your marks.  You should be well focused on the relative updates and PIB updates.
  • Limit of agriculture concepts is similar to calculating the limit of SKY.  As you all have studied various courses in agriculture during your graduation programme and even students from allied sciences or from AGRI B Tech have the idea about the course of agriculture so believe with little focussed approach you will nail it. You are not going to do research in the bank, IBPS just seeks the basic Agriculture knowledge from you viz. cropping pattern, crop growth conditions, varieties of important crop, soil types, nutrient management & deficiencies etc. So if you adhere yourself up to the quality notes of ixamBee courses, you will not skip a single question in the exam. If you undermine the exam pattern which nowadays consists of more current agriculture than conceptual you will definitely lose marks. So before the Preliminary exam you should study conceptual agriculture as much as you can but after Prelims, you should focus on notes and current agriculture.
  • How to get scheme, subsidy, production data and how to remember it-  The Best source is NABARD site or ixamBee pdf  because many schemes are launched by various ministries and directly given to the banks so preparing yourself the subsidy schemes is really very daunting task, so here at ixambee,  our content creator will be doing this work. As far as production data is concern you must have knowledge of last year production estimates and recent estimate launched by the Government for the current year, both are equally important for all viz food grain production, horticulture production, fisheries, dairy production etc. and you must revise again and again and discuss them in your friend circle so that you do not forget the digit during the IBPS SO AFO or any Agriculture exam.
  • For covering conceptual agriculture, ixamBee has designed very crisp, to the point and exam related concepts which are very easy to remember. We have already discussed the limitations of conceptual agriculture in earlier paragraphs. Even the books suggested above are designed to cover the syllabus for jrf/srf exams and may not be much useful for banking so there is no use of such vast conceptual knowledge. One more way is to give more and more mock tests to analyse yourself. Here you can go for ixamBee IBPS SO mock tests that are absolutely free and designed keeping the latest exam pattern in mind.
  • To ensure your selection, prior to IBPS SO AFO Preliminary exam along with Quants, Reasoning and English you must study conceptual Agriculture part as much as you can or you can simply read books or literature if you have time but after IBPS SO AFO Prelims, you must focus on current agriculture and give maximum mock test. At Least one mock test daily for IBPS SO AFO Mains exams, this will definitely ensure your selection
  • Interview- Interview has a huge impact on the choice of the bank because the marks of the interview can change all over marks with huge differences, so it has very high importance. Basically, we all have given interviews at various levels after leaving school so you have little knowledge and exposure about your interview skills on the basis of which you can analyse your weakness, skills, strengths etc. Generally, an interviewer seeks and rates your performance via, body posture, gesture, answering ability, way of response, how you start, how you end etc. so just make a list and work accordingly. You can also give mock interviews to get a real exam-like feeling. It will help you in analyzing yourself for all these aspects.

You can also go for ixamBee online course for IBPS AFO which is designed keeping the latest questions trend in mind.

  • Also have a deadline for each chapter and plan accordingly, otherwise your chapter will keep on pending.

The Covid-19 pandemic lockdown saw a surge in share market investment with a large proportion of trading being mobile-based. This growing trend of digitalized stock trading especially by youth has captured the eye of the capital market regulator – SEBI. The increased flow of youth engaging in investing in shares and mutual funds is indicative of a growing financial awareness and an evolving landscape where technology plays a pivotal role in shaping investment behaviours and preferences.

Keeping in mind the new investors who do trading from their mobiles, Shri Ajay Tyagi, ex-Chairman, Securities and Exchange Board of India / SEBI launched Saa₹thi mobile app on January 19, 2022, to provide investors with proper information about the securities market.

The ‘₹’ represents Indian Rupee.

Before you delve deep into Saa₹thi mobile app, it’s time to have a crisp look at the security market domain.

A Brief Introduction of Securities Market

The security market is a component of the financial market where securities are sold and bought based on demand and supply to raise funds. They have two segments –

  • Primary Market – company raises funds from the public by issuing new securities
  • Secondary Market – once issued in the primary market, the company lists its shares on the stock exchange where investors can sell/buy them

The primary function of the security market is to enable the capital flow from those who have it to those who need it. They provide channels for the allocation of savings to investments depending upon the economy’s abilities to invest and save.

Securities are negotiable financial instruments that have some type of financial value attached to them. They are of the following types as depicted in the image below.

What is Saa₹thi App?

Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) is known for implementing various technological initiatives to enhance transparency and efficiency in the Indian securities market. The Saa₹thi application provides information about mutual funds, their working, trading and settlement and KYC processes. Besides this, the Saa₹thi app also includes a grievance redressal mechanism for all developments taking place in the trading market. Saa₹thi app is available in Hindi and English format for both iOS and Android users. SEBI plans to develop the Saa₹thi app in local languages as well, in near future. With a user-friendly interface, the Saa₹thi app aims to enhance financial literacy and facilitate informed decision-making among investors in the dynamic landscape of the Indian securities market.

What’s The Need for Saa₹thi  App?

With the pandemic impacting interest rates on saving schemes and fixed deposits, the stock market emerged as the top choice” as reported by various newspapers.

NSE or National Stock Exchange, which is India’s largest financial market, states that the individual investor’s share has increased from 39% to 45% in March 2020. Also, a whopping 142 lakh new individual investors joined the stock market since the pre-pandemic time, with a continuous influx of new participants on a daily basis. This surge and enthusiasm among masses especially youth to invest in trading through smart phones grabbed SEBI’s attention. Seizing this opportunity SEBI launched Saa₹thi to help these individual investors trade. With this rising trend of mobile-based trading, the Saa₹thi app will help in easy accessibility of important and useful information to the masses easily.

All About Saa₹thi App

Here are a few simple steps to guide you through the use of the Saa₹thi application.

  • Install the Saa₹thi app from Google play store or app store.
  • Once it is installed, you will have three options as shown in the image below.
  • If you don’t want to register then choose “enter as guest” option.
  • If you want to get registered then enter details like name, email id, contact number, password and PAN card number.
  • Your account is created and a tab with six options will be visible as attached below.
  • Now you can surf any information related to the security market, shares, bonds and investment, about SEBI and its resources and more.
  • If you have any doubts related to the security market, the Saa₹thi app has a ‘Have a Query’ option to resolve the issue.
  • Besides this, you can contact SEBI on the numbers mentioned under the “Contact SEBI” section to have a direct call with them.

Why a surge in individual investors in India?

The investing pattern has changed across the world over the past few years. The COVID-19 pandemic gave a push to young investors to join the financial market force. India itself recorded a whooping high of 10.4 million active investor accounts in post-pandemic period. This surge is mainly due to some of the reasons mentioned below.

  • The reducing bank interest rates are making the returns from such investments very low.
  • Increase in global liquidity.
  • Broader shift among Indians, from the traditionally preferred physical assets and bank deposits.
  • Internet penetration to the remotest corners of the nation has opened improved accessibility to market news, investment education and awareness among investors.
  • Job losses coupled with salary cuts and an uncertain economic future have left millions mired at home thus looking for ways to enlarge their financial situation.
  • Advancement in technology has empowered investors with robust online tools for trading which in turn offer transparency and access to real-time trade execution.
  • Expansion of active investor communities who are ready to offer market analysis and investment opinions.
  • Increase in the market capitalization in stock markets.

In recent years, there has been a transformative shift in investment patterns on a global scale. This evolving scenario is characterized by a departure from traditional investment approaches, with investors increasingly embracing innovative and technology-driven avenues. As a result, the contemporary investment landscape is marked by a dynamic and diversified portfolio of strategies, reflecting the changing preferences and priorities of investors worldwide.

Considering that the Saa₹thi app is establishing its unique position among market investors, ixamBee, akin to a Saa₹thi for every aspirant preparing for SEBI Grade A 2024 Phase 2, shares a similar distinction Hit the target with the help of our experts by enrolling in SEBI Grade A Online Course and bring that change you want to see in your life.

The craze for government jobs is paramount.
