Food Corporation of India (FCI) has invited applications from eligible candidates for posts of Junior Engineer (JE) (Electrical/Mechanical/Civil Engineering), Assistant Grade II (AG II) (Hindi), Steno Grade-II, Typist (Hindi), Assistant Grade III (AG III) (General/Accounts/Technical/Depot). FCI has released a total of 4103 Zone-wise and post-wise vacancies. Selected candidates can be placed at any one of the Depots and Officers of FCI located all across the courtiers. FCI 2019 Selection Process:
Candidates will be selected for the announced posts on the basis of their performance in the following stages of recruitment:
- Phase 1
- Phase II
- Skill Test
- Document Verification

- Phase I exam will be Objective type (Multiple Choice Questions).
- Each question will carry equal 01 (one) mark. For each wrong answer, there will be negative marking of one-fourth (1/4) of the mark assigned to that question.
- If a question is left blank, i.e. no answer is marked by the candidate; there will be no negative marking for that question.
- The marks obtained in Phase-I will not be considered in final merit ranking.

FCI 2019 Phase II Details:
Phase II paper 1 has 120 Multiple Choice Questions of General Aptitude consisting of Reasoning/General Intelligence, English Language, Computer Proficiency, General Awareness, Current Events, Data Analysis/Numerical Ability/Data Interpretation for the Post Code A {Junior Engineer (Civil Engineering)}, B {Junior Engineer (Electrical Mechanical Engineering)}, F {AG-III (General)}, G {AG-III (Accounts)}, H{AG – III (Technical)} & I { AG-III (Depot)}. Duration of the paper is 90 minutes.
Phase II Paper-II exam pattern is as follows:
- 60 Multiple Choice Questions on Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering for Candidates applying for the Post Code A {Junior Engineer (Civil Engineering)}, Post Code B {Junior Engineer (Electrical Mechanical Engineering)}, to assess the post specific technical knowledge of relevant stream.
- 60 Multiple Choice Questions on Commerce particularly General Accounting and Finance for candidates applying for the Post Code G {Assistant Grade-III (Accounts)} to assess the post specific technical knowledge of relevant stream.
- 60 Multiple Choice Questions on Agriculture, Botany and Zoology (Group-A) or Agriculture, Chemistry and Physics (Group-B) for candidates applying for the Post Code H {Assistant Grade-III (Technical)} to assess the post specific technical knowledge of relevant stream.
Phase II Paper-III has 120 Multiple Choice Questions on General Hindi, General English, General Awareness, General Intelligence and Computer Knowledge for candidates applying for Post Code D {Assistant Grade-II (Hindi)}, and Post Code E {Typist (Hindi). The duration of the exam is 90 minutes.
Phase II Paper-IV is a Subjective Test wherein candidate needs to translation – 2 Passages, one each from Hindi to English and vice-versa or candidates applying for the Post Code D {Assistant Grade-II (Hindi)}. Each Question will carry 60 marks and the maximum marks for the Paper-IV would be 120. The duration of the test is 90 minutes.
Phase II Paper-V has 120 Multiple Choice Questions on General English, General Awareness, General Intelligence and Computer Knowledge (with specific reference to MS Word and Internet) for candidates applying for the Post Code C {Steno. Grade-II}. The duration of the test is 90 minutes.
Phase II Paper–IV for the post of Assistant Grade-II (Hindi) which shall be descriptive in nature, would be conducted online and for appearing in Paper-IV, a candidate should be able to use following keyboard layouts:
- Inscript
- Remington (GAIL).
FCI 2019 SKILL TEST:
- Candidates applying for the Post of Typist (Hindi) (Post code-E) will need to take Paper – III in Phase II for Online Test. Thereafter the candidates will undergo a Skill-Test in typing in Hindi which will be of qualifying nature.
- Candidates applying for the Post of Steno.Grade-II (Post code-C) will need to take Paper – V in Phase II for Online Test. Thereafter the candidates will undergo a Skill-Test in typing and shorthand which will be of qualifying nature. The language of Skill Test i.e (Typing, Short Hand) will be in English.
FCI 2019 DOCUMENT VERIFICATION
The next stage in FCI 2019 after online test and skill test is a document verification stage. The number of Candidates to be called for document verification may be equal to three times the number of advertised vacancies.
FCI 2019 Fee Details
- Candidates are required to submit APPLICATION FEE of Rs. 500/- {Excluding bank charges but including G S T by using Debit Cards (RuPay/Visa/MasterCard/Maestro), Credit Cards, Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards/ Mobile Wallets, UPI by providing information as asked on the screen.
- Women candidates are exempted from payment of Application Fee.
- SC / ST / PwBD / Serving Defence Personnel / Ex-Serviceman who have already secured employment in civil side under Central Government in Group ‘C’ & ‘D’ posts on regular basis Page 24 of 45 after availing of the benefits of reservation given to Ex-Servicemen for their re-employment are NOT eligible for fee concession or for claiming benefits of reservation under EXS category. However, they are eligible for age relaxation only.

How to Apply for FCI 2019:
Online registrations for FCI 2019 start from February 28, 2019, and will end on March 30, 2019. Candidates can apply online only from the mentioned dates and no other mode of application will be accepted.
Candidates should keep the following documents ready before applying online:
- Scanned photograph (4.5cm × 3.5cm)
- Signature (with black ink)
- left thumb impression (on white paper with black or blue ink)
- a hand-written declaration (on a white paper with black ink) with the text given below. This handwritten declaration ensures that all these scanned documents adhere to the required specifications.
“I, _______ (Name of the candidate), hereby declare that all the information submitted by me in the application form is correct, true and valid. I will present the supporting documents as and when required.”
Candidates should keep in mind the following points before applying:
- Signature in CAPITAL LETTERS will NOT be accepted.
- The left thumb impression should be properly scanned and not smudged. (If a candidate is not having left thumb, he/she may use his/ her right thumb for applying.)
- The hand-written declaration has to be in the candidate’s handwriting and in English only. If it is written and uploaded by anybody else or in any other language, the application will be considered as invalid.
- Have a valid personal email ID and mobile no., which should be kept active till the completion of this Recruitment Process. FCI may send intimation to download call letters for the Examination etc. through the registered e-mail ID.
