Question

Direction (Q. 1-5): Read the information given and answer the questions.

D, E, F, G, H and I are sitting at the corners of a hexagonal table facing the center. All of them live in houses no. different houses no. – 51, 52, 53, 54, 55 and 56. Also their houses are painted with different colors – Blue, Green, Black, Purple, Orange and White.

E does not live in house no. 54 or 56. D, who lives in house no. 55, sits adjacent to H. Only two people sit between E and the one whose house is painted with White color. F, whose house is painted with Purple color, sits to the immediate left of the one who lives in house no. 56. E does not live in house no. 52. G sits third to the one who lives in house no. in 53. I’s house is not painted with Orange Colour. The one who lives in house no. 53 is immediately next to the one whose house is painted with White color. The ones who live in house no. 56 and 54 sit diagonally opposite to each other. G’s house is neither painted with Orange nor Blue color. The one who lives in house no. 54 and painted with Green color sits next to G.

Solution:

Only two people sit between E and the one whose house is painted with White color.

The one who lives in house no. 53 is immediately next to the one whose house is painted with White colour.

G sits third to the one who lives in house no. 53.

From these statements, we will have two cases:

Case 1:

If E sits at place no. 1, then the one whose house is painted with White colour sits at place no. 4.

The one who lives in house no. 53 sits at place no. 3.

G sits at place no. 6.

Case 2:

If E sits at place no. 1, then the one whose house is painted with White colour sits at place no. 4.

The one who lives in house no. 53 sits at place no. 5.

G sits at place no. 2.

The one who lives in house no. is 54 and painted with Green sits next to G. E does not live in house no. 54 or 56.

The ones who live in 56 and 54 sit diagonally opposite to each other.

F, whose house is painted with Purple, sits to the immediate left of the one who lives in house no. 56.

Case 1:

The one who lives in house no. 54 and painted with Green sits at place no. 5 and the one who lives in house no. 56 sits at place no. 2.

This case will be discarded as E is sitting to the immediate left of the one who lives in house no. 56.

Case 2:

The one who lives in house no. 54 and painted with Green sits at place no. 3 and the one who lives in house no. 56 sits at place no. 6.

F sits at place no. 5.

D, who lives in house no. 55 sits adjacent to H.  E does not live in house no. 52. I’s house is not painted with Orange color.

G’s house is neither painted with Orange nor Blue color.

We need two consecutive places for D and H. So, D and H will sit at place no. 4 and 3 respectively. As neither I nor G’s house were painted with Orange so Q’s house was painted with Orange and I’s house painted with Blue color.

G’s house is painted with Black color. As E does not live in house no. 52, So, G lives in 52 and E lives in house no. 51.

Final arrangement as shown below:

1. The person who sits second to the right of F lives in which of the following houses no.?

1) 56

2) 51

3) 52

4) 53

5) 54

Ans: 2

2. Which of the following combinations is not correct?

1) E – 51 – Orange

2) D – White – 55

3) G – Black – 52

1) The one who lives in house no. 51

2) The one whose house is painted with Purple color

3) D

4) The one who sits immediate right of E

5) None of these

Ans: 4

5. Who among the following lives in house no. 52?

1) F

2) H

3) G

4) E

5) None of these

Ans: 3

But, by employing suitable strategies and maintaining regular practice, you can cultivate a skill set empowering you to approach them confidently and proficiently. You will see it to be fun solving these tricky kind of questions. Below are some effective guidelines for solving seating arrangement questions:

Understand the given information: Carefully read and comprehend all the conditions, clues, and constraints provided in the question. Ensure you grasp the relationships and restrictions among individuals.

Make diagrams: Create visual representations or diagrams to map out possible seating arrangements based on the given conditions. Use symbols or placeholders for individuals and note down the information you deduce.

Identify the fixed and flexible information: Differentiate between the fixed details (information that remains constant) and the flexible ones (conditions that allow for multiple interpretations or variations). Focus on using the fixed information as the anchor for your arrangement.

Utilize clues effectively: Pay attention to clues that explicitly state seating positions, adjacent placements, directional facing, or any specific conditions. Use these clues to narrow down possibilities and eliminate incorrect arrangements.

Employ elimination techniques: Gradually eliminate improbable or conflicting arrangements based on the given conditions. This process of elimination helps refine your possible solutions.

Consider multiple scenarios: Be open to exploring different scenarios and arrangements while adhering to the given conditions. Sometimes, trying various combinations helps in identifying the correct arrangement.

Practice regularly: Enhance your skills by practicing a variety of seating arrangement puzzles from previous papers or mock tests. Regular practice improves your speed and accuracy in solving these questions.

Time management: Allocate a specific time limit for each question to avoid getting stuck. If a particular question seems too complex, consider skipping it initially and return to it later if time permits.

Read here about how to prepare for the RBI Grade B exam 2023 with the best preparation strategy for RBI Grade B exam.

In the last article about the RBI Grade B winning strategy, I discussed Phase 1 preparation for RBI Grade B 2023. In this article on RBI Grade B 2023 winning strategy part 3, I am focusing on the next step of the RBI Grade B preparation i.e., the RBI Grade B Phase 2 preparation strategy for the upcoming exam.

RBI Grade B Notification 2023

The RBI Grade B newspaper advertisement was released on April 26, 2023. The RBI Grade B Phase 1 exam for the General stream will be held on July 30, 2023. This gives us exactly 3 months to prepare from today.

RBI Grade B 2023 Phase 2 Preparation Strategy

Are you prepared for the next RBI Grade B Phase 2 exam? I hope you’ve been studying hard for the RBI Grade B Phase 1 and Phase 2 Exams. If you are serious about passing the RBI Grade B Phase 2, you should devote all of your time and attention to it. It is necessary to study hard, but it is only by studying smart that you can succeed!!!!

For the RBI Grade B Phase 2 exam, #SRCP have designed the strategy for your preparation. First, start your preparation by analyzing the RBI Grade B 2023 exam pattern and RBI Grade B previous years’ cut-off.  Below is the table depicting the cut-off pattern and the exam pattern for RBI Grade B. The cut-off is only for your reference. It will not have any impact on the coming year’s cut-off.

RBI Grade B Phase 2 Cut-Offs

This year, the cut-off for RBI Grade B 2023 will be predicted by Mr. Susheel Ragade, our exam expert forming the #SRCP expertise. The cut-off informs about the difficulty level of the exam thus I can say that the cut-off is inversely proportional to the level of the RBI Grade B exam. If the cut-off is high the level of the exam was easy to moderate but if it’s low then the level of the exam was moderate to difficult.

RBI Grade B Phase 2 Exam Pattern

The RBI Grade B phase 2 exam has three papers and the weightage of descriptive papers altogether is greater than the weightage of objective ESI and FM  papers. Your descriptive papers for a total of 200 marks (English+ESI+FM) and your objective forms a total of 100 marks (ESI+FM).

Also, take a look at the RBI Grade B 2023 Exam Pattern with all the details at ixamBee.

Where to Begin?

When your preparations revolve around a schedule, you must devote a certain amount of time to a specific topic or subject. The topics may appear to be stepping stones to cross but once you’ve completed one, you’ve progressed one level in your preparation.

When there is a schedule there is also a deadline to finish the subjects within a certain amount of time. Regular studies lower stress levels because the number of topics to be covered does not build up into blizzards. A study routine results in improved physical and mental health. Therefore, I am now going to tell you the most effective strategy framed by #SRCP

Preparation for RBI Grade B: Economic and Social Issues (ESI)

The syllabus for the ESI section is divided into four chapters:

  • Growth and Development
  • Economic Reforms in India
  • Globalization
  • Social Structure in India

RBI Grade B ESI Syllabus

Growth and DevelopmentEconomic Reforms in IndiaGlobalizationSocial Structure in India
Measurement of growth: National Income and per capita income
Poverty Alleviation and Employment Generation in India
Sustainable Development and Environmental issues
Industrial and Labour Policy
Monetary and Fiscal Policy
Privatization
Role of Economic Planning
Opening up of the Indian Economy
Balance of Payments
Export-Import Policy
International Economic Institutions
IMF and World Bank –WTO
Regional Economic Co-operation
Multiculturalism
Demographic Trends
Urbanisation and Migration
Gender Issues
Social Justice
Positive Discrimination in favour of the underprivileged
Social Movements
Indian Political System
Human Development
Social Sectors in India
Health and Education

The whole syllabus for RBI Grade B ESI is general and doesn’t require you to be an economist. You are required to have a basic conceptual understanding of all the terms mentioned in the RBI Grade B ESI syllabus along with the current developments in that area.

Also see: RBI Grade B Phase 2 Exam Pattern and Syllabus 2023

To prepare the ESI section, prepare it with the RBI Grade B general awareness section as most of the area in the syllabus is from social issues. Therefore, maximum preparation for the RBI Grade B ESI section can be from the newspapers (general as well as business standards) and current affairs.

Review the suggested RBI Grade B books once but don’t be thorough in them. They are only for your reference.

An Important point to consider: While preparing for the RBI Grade B GA section, prepare simultaneously for the ESI. Your ESI preparation should be from both the angle of conceptual understanding and current affairs.

For current affairs or general awareness refer to ixamBee’s BeePedia notes for elaborative learning in one place. BeePedia contains all the latest general awareness information that you need for your RBI Grade B exam preparation. Read the recommended RBI Grade B books only for conceptual understanding.

Preparation for RBI Grade B: English Writing Skills

RBI Grade B English paper could make or break your selection. Since the RBI Grade B Descriptive English section is easy in comparison to the other two thus you will be able to answer all of the questions on this paper. Your goal should be to maximize your English marks. And practice will be the secret to achieving this. In this part, only Essay, Precise Writing, and Comprehension will be asked.

  • Essay: 40 Marks: 300 Words
  • Precis: 40 Marks: 120-130 Words
  • Comprehension: 20 Marks 160-200 Words

In this paper, you should strive for a minimum score of 65-70. Examine The Hindu, Indian Express, and Business Standard’s editorial pages. Practice writing essays on the subjects like government schemes, social problems, banking, and so on.

How to Improve writing skills?

  • Always remember, this is the exam of your basic writing skills and not the Shakespearian skills. Read newspapers: So much happens every day that unless you keep up with them, you won’t be able to write well in the essay.
  • A good understanding of current issues will aid you in dealing with the English paper.
  • Reading newspapers daily will also help you develop your vocabulary and English skills.
  • Select a general topic for your essay writing. Try not to select an economic or finance topic. While writing, focus on grammar and vocabulary, punctuation, correct clauses, and sentence formation.
  • This can be learned through regular practice and you must get it checked by a mentor. Analyzing it by the experts will help you understand the area you need to improve.

Preparation for RBI Grade B: Finance and Management

With the new exam pattern of RBI Grade B, RBI Grade B FM paper also contains a 50% descriptive writing portion. A new section has been added to the management part called management ethics.

A new topic was introduced this year, “Impact of the global financial crisis of 2007-08 and the Indian response”.

Follow the same strategy of RBI Grade B ESI preparation to prepare for this section. You need to prepare the financial system, financial markets, and other general topics related to finance for Finance and Basic Principles of Management and Organizational Behavior for Management.

Command over the general financial management of the Indian Government and related current affairs from this area. The FM paper includes general topics like financial inclusion, risk management in banking sectors, inflation and its impact, the union budget, and more.

RBI Grade B: Interview

Your RBI Grade B Interview consists of 75 marks and it is the final stage. Prepare by mock interviews before facing the actual interview. It will help you gain confidence and mock interviews provide you the platform to commit mistakes that can be corrected further but in a real interview you will not get the opportunity to correct your mistake. Thus, going through a mock interview is always a better idea. You can boost your interview preparation with exam experts famous as #SRCP.

There is no hard and quick syllabus for the RBI Grade B interview. Before the interview, review the fundamental concepts but don’t read too much. If you don’t know the answer, don’t worry. The panel members are normally very friendly, and they do not place interviewees in uncomfortable circumstances unnecessarily.

You need to have a good grasp of the basic concepts and data related to macroeconomics. Also, refer to the FAQs section of the RBI website to brush the basic concepts like banking, currency, foreign exchange, securities market etc. Keep yourself updated with current affairs of the last 6 months on these topics.

Important is while reading these events observe the writing style. Write on the trending topics yourself in the allotted time and get it checked by a mentor/teacher. Before you start writing, ensure that you spend some time to make an outline of the essay. It is recommended to write at least 3-4 essays in a week followed by an analysis.

World Hepatitis Day is celebrated on July 28 every year to create awareness about the disease and how it affects people all over the world. According to the World Health Organization, on average there are 4 crore people who chronically suffer from Hepatitis B in India. Similarly more than 60 lakh people suffer from Hepatitis C.

What is Hepatitis?

Before we move on to learning about why creating awareness about Hepatitis is important, it is imperative to understand the disease itself and the effect it has on the infected.

Hepatitis is primarily caused by the Hepatitis A virus (HAV). The other strains are named as Hepatitis B, C, D and E. The disease infects the liver of the patient causing it to inflate. This inflation thwarts the liver from performing its functions normally.

The symptoms include but are not limited to:

  • Fever
  • Nausea
  • Joint pain
  • Abdominal pain
  • Jaundice

Types of Hepatitis

As aforementioned, there are 5 main types of Hepatitis that affect people. They are Hepatitis A, B, C, D and E. Among these, Hepatitis A and E are generally caused due to the consumption of contaminated food or water. Basically, Hepatitis is transmitted through the fecal-oral route.

Other methods of transmission, generally for strains, B, C and D of the Hepatitis virus include use of contaminated or unsensitized (medical) equipment, intrusive medical procedures. In some cases, Hepatitis may be hereditary or caused by sexual activity.

World Hepatitis Day Importance

The World Hepatitis Day is dedicated to the people suffering from Hepatitis and their friends & families to come together to share opinions and concerns. It is a day to celebrate the progress we have made in medicine thus far and to deliberate ways to meet the present exigencies.

At Risk Groups/Factors

More than at-risk groups, there are factors that can amplify chances of Hepatitis infection. These are:

  • Unavailability of clean water supply
  • Poor drainage and sanitation facilities.
  • People living in slum areas.
  • Living in close quarters with an infected person.
  • Being sexually involved with someone diagnosed with Hepatitis until they are fully cured.
  • Consumption of large amounts of alcohol as it weakens the liver.
  • Use of recreational drugs lowers overall immunity of the body.

Hepatitis Day Theme 2021

The World Hepatitis Day Theme 2021 is “Hepatitis Can’t Wait”. The theme conveys the urgency of the situation in tackling the disease and finding a cure for it.

The World Hepatitis Day Theme 2020 was “Hepatitis-free future”.

What to Do on World Hepatitis Day?

This is a day for the medical communities, political organizations and volunteer groups to come together to raise awareness about the disease. More importantly, it is important to create dialogue about how to prevent the infection by maintaining a good standard of living and a healthy lifestyle.

Since this is a contagious disease, it is also important to dissolve any taboo revolving around it so that patients can comfortably seek the necessary help and medication.

Hepatitis Trivia

  • Hepatitis E generally affects pregnant women.
  • Hepatitis A is acute or short-term in nature. The other strains, particularly Hepatitis B, are long-standing and recurring.
  • There are vaccines present against all strains of Hepatitis.
  • Liver transplant is one of the methods of curing Hepatitis. However, this treatment does not guarantee 100% recovery.

Ambition is a powerful desire to achieve or become something. Every individual has their own ambition(s) in life depending upon their background, values, ideas of success and the like. It is this ambition that keeps us motivated to better ourselves each day and to become the best version of ourselves. Frankly, without any ambition, life can become meaningless.

To turn your dreams into reality, you need to realize them in your mind first. You have to mentally prepare yourself for the life you want to live. In this article, we will talk about how you can achieve your aims by realizing them in your mind first. To do so, you need to first figure out your ambition and then work towards it with single-minded dedication.

How to Achieve Your AIM?

While different strategies may work for different individuals depending on their habits and needs, in general, there are several tried and tested methods that you should adopt to fulfill your aim.

  • To begin with, fix your aim. Exercise your imagination to find your aim.
  • Make a plan to achieve that aim within the desired timespan.
  • Design a routine and follow it to the T.
  • Set short-term goals that will be stepping stones to achieving your final aim.
  • Inculcate the required qualities for your aim to come closer to fulfilling it.
  • Be your own biggest critic.
  • Inculcate the habit of introspection. This will allow you to have an honest conversation with yourself to understand how close (or not) you are to achieving your goal.
  • Keep some time for entertainment and rest, because remember, all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.
  • Last but not least, never give up on your ambition.
