FSSAI 2021-22: How to Score Well in CBT-2?

FSSAI CBT-2: Previous Year Questions

Going through the FSSAI previous year question papers will give you a fair idea about the FSSAI exam pattern. Moreover, it will help you in figuring out the following-

Like we promised, we will also be going over some FSSAI Written Exam previous year questions to give you an idea about what to expect in the FSSAI CBT-2 2021-22 exam. The questions are given below-

Q1) Food Safety and Standard Act, 2006 and its background & Food Safety and Standards Regulations (FSSR) 2011 licensing and registration related.

Q2) Discuss the concept and principles of BHOG by FSSAI.

Q3) Define the term ‘smart consumer’. Explain the principles underlying for food smart consumers.

Q4) Define the term ‘food recall’. Discuss the steps of food being recalled from the market and launched again with all the wholesome properties.

The questions discussed above will give you a blueprint based on which you can start your FSSAI CBT-2 exam preparation.

FSSAI CBT-2: Tentative Syllabus

FSSAI has not released the CBT-2 syllabus yet. The FSSAI will officially release the CBT-2 syllabus and exam pattern after the CBT-1 exam is conducted. So, it is expected to be released soon. However, to ease your anxiety, we will skim through the FSSAI Written Exam 2019 syllabus for the post of Central Food Safety Officer (CFSO) and Technical Officer (TO).

In 2019, the Written Exam was a pen and paper test. In FSSAI 2021-22 recruitment, it will be a Computer Based Test (CBT).

FSSAI Written Exam 2019 Syllabus

The FSSAI 2019 syllabus was divided into three parts-

Parts No. of Questions + Marks
Part A: General Ability
Reading Comprehension, Smart Working with MS Office, Mental Ability based on Case Studies/Situational Analysis2 questions x 10 marks= 20 marks
Part B: Food Safety Ecosystem in India
Indian Scenario of Food Safety: Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 and its background, Food Safety and Standards Regulations ( FSSR) 2011 Licensing and Registration, Schedule 4 requirements, Recent advances in Packaging & Labelling Requirements, Regulations related to Nutraceuticals and foods for Special Dietary Uses, provisions on Organic Food and Non-specified Food/Food Ingredients, Central Advisory Committee and Scientific Committee/Panels, Food Import Clearance System, Notified labs and adjudications,

Part C

If we look at the overall FSSAI 2019 syllabus, there will not be a drastic change in FSSAI CBT-2 2021-22 syllabus. The topics will be more or less similar. However, there may be a change in the exam pattern in the FSSAI 2021-22 recruitment cycle.

FSSAI CBT-2: How to Prepare?

Part A, dealing with General Ability, was also covered in FSSAI CBT-1. So, you can follow the same strategy for FSSAI CBT-2 as well.

However, we can divide Part B into two parts i.e. Indian Scenario of Food Safety and Initiatives of FSSAI.

  • For Indian Scenario of Food Safety, you can begin your preparation with the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 and Food Safety and Standards Regulations ( FSSR) 2011 as understanding the technicalities of the Act and Regulations requires some effort. The rest you can cover once FSSAI releases the complete CBT-2 syllabus.
  • For Initiatives of FSSAI, the FSSAI website is the best source. It covers all the important information with respect to the Initiatives.

In Part C, you can start with the topics covered under Food Processing and Preservation as they are easy to understand and retain. Moreover, you can also go through the CBT-1 syllabus.

The key here is revision. You must not waste time in waiting for the CBT-2 syllabus to be announced. You should start your preparation right away to stay a step ahead of your competitors.
