One of most prestigious banking job recruits is that of the National Housing Bank. The NHB is headquartered in Delhi and comes directly under the jurisdiction of the Indian Government. It has several regiona offices in cities like Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Kolkata to name a few. The main responsibility of the organization is to supervise the housing finance companies that are situated in India. The organization offers stellar job opportunities for fresh candidates and exams are conducted to recruit new candidates. While there have been exams conducted in 2022 and 2023, there has been no notification for the exam in 2024 so far. But it is expected to arrive soon and all hopefuls eagerly await this opportunity.

The NHB often announces job openings on its official website, offering positions such as General Manager, Deputy GM, Assistant GM, Manager, Assistant Manager, and various contractual roles like Chief Financial Officer, Economist, MIS, Chief Economist, Senior Application Developer, Application Developer, Senior Project Finance Officer, and Project Finance Officer. This was later on increased for the subsequent cycle. Based on these trends, the number of vacancies is expected to be close to this number for the coming year. The National Housing Bank Assistant Manager online written exam was conducted on December 24, 2022. In this article, we will be discussing the overall analysis of the NHB AM exam 2022.  The level of the examination was Moderate to Difficult This analysis is based solely on the feedback from the students who appeared in the test.

Let us first see the NHB AM Written Exam 2022 section-wise analysis.

NHB AM Exam Pattern 

The NHB Assistant Manager objective test assesses four subjects that are- Reasoning and Computer Aptitude, General Awareness, English Language and Quantitative Aptitude. The test is for 200 marks. The candidate needs to attain a minimum score in each section of the Objective test. This is followed by a Descriptive English test for 25 marks.

General Awareness/Banking Awareness

The General Awareness section includes banking knowledge, general knowledge, current affairs, and economic knowledge. Not many questions were asked on current affairs from December. However, the maximum focus of this section was on current affairs for the last 3 months (i.e., November, October and September 2022). Around 8 questions were asked on static GK as well.

Here are a few memory-based topics on which General awareness questions were asked that we have learned from our students who took this exam.

  • ICC chairman name
  • UBI Bank merger
  • World Meteorological Day
  • Maximum no. of users that can open an excel sheet at a time

Descriptive English English

In the English Language section, the majority of the questions were asked from Reading Comprehension followed by Cloze Test and Fillers. The overall level of this section was “Easy to Moderate”.                                                                                                           

Last but not least, this section is Descriptive Writing. It had 2 questions- A letter and An Essay with a time limit of 30 minutes.

  • Essay on non-performing asset

Letter Writing (word limit 150 words)

  • Write a letter to your Manager asking him for access to the Bank statement.
