NRA CET Graduate Level Exam Preparation

Let us now understand how to prepare for the NRA CET exam for each subject.

General Intelligence & Reasoning

As you already know, the General Intelligence & Reasoning section is assessed to test a candidate’s problem-solving and analytical reasoning skills. At any job, especially a competitive government job, it is very important that candidates possess problem solving skills so that they can carry out their work effectively. Therefore, if you want to do well in this section, you must do the following:

  • Focus on topics like Syllogism, Ranking, Blood relations, Direction sense, Coding-Decoding, Alphanumeric Series, Embedded Figures, Puzzles, Seating Arrangement, etc.
  • Practice a variety of questions every day. The more you practice with different types of questions, the more your analytical skills will improve.
  • Practice with situation-based questions as well. You will be assessed more on situational and less concept-based questions. Therefore, the problems and their solutions will be very practical.
  • Go step-by-step. Start with easy topics and then increase the level of difficulty.

Quantitative Aptitude

This section is aimed at testing the basic mathematical aptitude of the candidates. At any government job, especially bank jobs, you will certainly need good mathematical skills to carry out your day-to-day work.

  • Some of the more important topics in this section on which you may expect more questions are
    • Number Systems
    • Ratio and Proportion
    • Data Interpretation
    • Percentages
    • Mensuration
    • Arithmetic Word Problems (Simple and Compound Interest, Time & Work, Profit & Loss, Algebra and such).
  • When you are studying, practice 1 topic you’re already familiar with and 1 topic that is new/difficult for you. This way, you can cover more than 1 topic every day and practice as you go along.
  • Memorize tables up to 20, squares up to 40 and cubes up to 30.
  • In your practice book, make note of frequently used formulae that you can also memorize for faster question-solving.
  • When you solve questions, do your paperwork clearly and step-by-step. This way, if you do not come to the right answer, you will know exactly where you have made your mistake. Develop a habit of doing paperwork to practice instead of solving orally.
  • Time yourself when you answer each exercise or mock test.
  • Most importantly, focus on taking free mock tests.

English Language

This section will test your knowledge of vocabulary and English grammar. It will be particularly helpful as all government documentations are done mostly in English. The questions will be fairly basic so even if you have a decent command over English, you should be able to pass this section.

  • You will get questions from Reading Comprehension, Synonym & Antonym, Para Jumbles, Fill in the blanks, Sentence Correction, etc.
  • The best way to improve your grammar is by solving grammar exercises.
  • The more you solve, the better command you will have over your language skills.
  • Further, if you want to improve your vocabulary, you must read newspapers, articles, magazines and books in English.
  • Develop a reading habit to improve your speed.
  • Solve 5 Reading Comprehension exercises every week.

General Awareness

Broadly speaking, the GA section can be divided into the current affairs and static G.K. For current affairs you must be in the know-how of the events being discussed in the news. Static G.K. will test your knowledge of important days, books, authors, basic history, geography, awards & honours and such.

Current Affairs includes the present and ongoing events of the past one year in different fields like politics, finance, banking, economy, sports, etc. If you want to stay ahead in the GA section, you must watch the news and read the newspaper daily. Please note, this is not a section that you can memorize a few days before the exam so its best if you keep up with the news as they occur.

It would be advisable to keep notes of the most important events for revision. You can also keep up with all the information in 1 place with ixamBee’s BeePedia capsules.

As for Static GK, the questions will be based on History, Geography, Civics, Elementary Science and such. Divide the subjects in your planner and cover all the topics properly. Moreover, you can take a free GA Quiz, at ixamBee completely for free!

NRA CET Exam Difficulty Level

Please note, the difficulty level of the exam will depend upon the post you are applying for. Therefore, for the Matric-level CET, your level of assessment will be of Class 10-level only.

NRA CET 2022: Subject-Wise Preparation Tips

Let us now look at how we can prepare for the NRA CET matric-level exam for each subject.

Firstly, we must understand that the level of assessment will be of matric level-only. Therefore, we can expect the questions to be simple and basic.

Quantitative Aptitude

  • The more important topics from this section are Number Systems, Ratio and Proportion, Data Interpretation, Percentages, Mensuration, Simple and Compound Interest.
  • Solve 5 questions from each of the aforementioned topics daily.
  • However, you must give due time and attention to all the topics as well.
  • Memorize tables up to 20, Squares up to 40, and Cubes up to 20. This will help you solve all the questions quickly and accurately.
  • Take 1 or 2 subjects at a time only. It is best to begin slowly and steadily if mathematics is not your strong suit.
  • Moreover, we advise you to begin with the more difficult topics first.
  • Please keep in mind, since the assessment is for matric-level only, all the questions will be quite basic. Therefore, if you practice enough, you should be able to score well in this section.

General Intelligence & Reasoning

  • This is the most important section of any competitive exam from the examiner’s perspective.
  • General Intelligence and Reasoning seeks to check the problem-solving ability of a candidate.
  • The more important topics for this section are Coding-Decoding, Alphanumeric Series, Verbal Reasoning, Embedded Figures, Blood relations, Direction Sense and Order & Ranking.
  • For this section and for Quantitative Aptitude, we recommend that you take many mock tests to understand how you are faring in this exam.

General Awareness

  • The General Awareness section of the paper basically can be divided into 2 parts, i.e., Static G.K and Current Affairs. Among these 2, if you are asked school-level static G.K., it can be a very scoring section as questions will be asked from history, geography, elementary science, politics, novels, English literature and the like.
  • If you passed your matric exam a few years ago, its time to reopen your school books once again. However, be mindful of the latest syllabus as a reference point for your exam.
  • Read BeePedia capsules to stay abreast with Dynamic GK.
  • Take a daily GA Quiz with ixamBee for free!

English Language

  • The language assessment seeks to assess the candidate’s basic knowledge of vocabulary, grammar and communication ability. Therefore, if you want to score well in the English section, start studying the basics of English Grammar.
  • Improve your vocabulary by reading newspapers.
  • There will be a reading comprehension exercise as well. Thus, you must solve 3-5 passages every week.
  • Keep taking grammar MCQ tests as often as you can.
  • Read the newspaper in English daily. It will help you with your GA and English preparation simultaneously.

If you want to know anything more about the NRA CET exam 2022, you can find all the details on our website about the same.
