Despite Covid 19’s shadow, sports seemed to be breathing easy. However, due to the outbreak of another wave in Shanghai, the Asian Games have been postponed, which were to be held in September. This offers some relief to the athletes, as they now have to focus only on the World Championships and Commonwealth Games. Moreover, a postponement of the Asiad games will lead to some complications in the boxing calendar as the 2023 competitions are the yardstick for Olympic qualification. However, China had its reasons for this postponement, and the sporting world will have to rework on their preparations and priorities.
