DSSSB SO Horticulture Qualifying Marks
To ensure a high standard of selection and attract top-tier talent, the Board has established minimum qualifying marks for various categories (UR/SC/ST/OBC/EWS/P.W.D/EX-SM):
- General/EWS: 40%
- OBC (Delhi): 35%
- SC/ST/PH(PwD): 30%
- Ex-servicemen will receive a 5% relaxation in their respective categories, with a minimum qualifying threshold of 30%.
Post Preference
Examinations are scheduled for the position of SECTION OFFICER (HORTICULTURE) across various Departments. Detailed preferences regarding the Departments of the Govt. of NCT of Delhi will be collected from candidates during the online calling of e-dossier. Failure to express preferences will result in the Board, at its discretion, determining the Department allocation based on the candidate's eligibility per RRs. This decision will be conclusive. Once confirmed during the online calling of e-dossier, preferences are deemed final and cannot be altered subsequently under any circumstances. Hence, candidates should exercise their preferences with care.
Mode of Selection
- In cases where dates of birth are also identical, the candidate whose first name appears first in alphabetical order (in English) will be given a higher merit position.
- If marks are still equal, the candidate senior in age will be ranked higher;
- Priority will be given to the candidate with higher marks in the subject-specific section (Section-B);
- In the event of multiple candidates in the same category achieving identical marks:
- In Two-Tier Examinations, the Tier 1 examination serves solely as a qualifying stage and is utilized for shortlisting purposes. The final selection is contingent upon the cumulative merit/marks acquired in the Tier 2 examination.
- The final selection and allocation of Departments/Local/Autonomous Bodies of the Govt. of NCT of Delhi to qualified candidates will be based on Tier-II Examination performance, preferences of Posts/Departments/Local/Autonomous Bodies indicated during the online calling of e-dossier, and eligibility as per Recruitment Rules (RRs).
- Once a candidate is allocated their first available preference based on merit, they will not be considered for subsequent preferences. Requests for changing Posts/Departments will not be entertained under any circumstances. Candidates are advised to exercise preference cautiously, as choices made and confirmed will be considered FINAL and IRREVERSIBLE.
- The final allotment of posts/departments will be determined by merit and candidate preferences. Once a post/department is allocated, the Board will not entertain or allow any requests for post changes.
Marking Scheme
Like many exams, the DSSSB SO Horticulture exam employs a negative marking system. For each incorrect response, a penalty is applied—specifically, 0.25 or 1/4th of the mark assigned to the question is deducted. Prudent and accurate answers are crucial to avoid these deductions. Importantly, unanswered questions do not incur negative marks, providing a strategic advantage for careful consideration and omission when uncertain. Understanding this marking scheme is crucial for maximizing performance in the DSSSB SO Horticulture examination 2024.
