EPFO SSA (Social Security Assistant) Exam Pattern
It is very important for you to note that as per the EPFO SSA notification 2025, the EPFO SSA selection procedure 2025 has been changed. As of this year, the EPFO SSA recruitment process will be carried out over two (2) stages only. The EPFO Social Security Assistant Exam will be conducted in online mode and will consist of 2 stages that have been listed for you below
- Stage I: Computer-Based Examination (Phase-I)
- Stage II: Computer Typing Test (Phase-II) (Computer Data Entry Test)
Each of these phases will contain questions from certain subjects to test the knowledge of candidates and they will have to secure minimum qualifying marks to clear the first and then second phase. To ace any exam, you should be well aware of the exam pattern and all the related information about the pattern of questions. EPFO Social Security Assistant Phase I Computer-Based Exam
As the notification for EPFO Social Security Assistant has been released and the registration process started on March 27, 2025, thus you should start gearing up for the exam as soon as possible. Before you start the preparation, you should know the complete exam pattern. Phase I of the EPFO Social Security Assistant 2025 Exam will be an online objective exam that will consist of three tests: English Language, Reasoning Ability & Numerical Aptitude carrying 100 marks. Phase I will be qualifying in nature and therefore this will be just a step to reaching the next level.

- Each question will carry 4 marks.
- The marks obtained in Phase–I will be considered for final selection on merit.
- For each wrong answer, there will be a negative marking of one-fourth of the mark assigned to that question.
- English comprehension shall be objective.
- The exam will be conducted for a total of 600 marks.
- On the basis of their performance in Phase I, candidates will be shortlisted for Phase II in a ratio of 1:10, or roughly 10 times the number of vacancies in each category.
- If the exam is administered in more than one session, the scores from each session will be averaged in accordance with accepted practice to account for minor variations in test battery difficulty across sessions.
EPFO Social Security Assistant Phase II Exam: Computer Typing Test
Applicants will need to appear for the Skill Test or a Computer Typing Test, which will determine the candidates' accuracy and speed for data entry work. 30 words per minute in Hindi or 35 words per minute in English when typing on a computer. 35 words per minute and 30 words per minute translate to 10500 Key Depressions Per Hour (KDPH) and 9000 KDPH, respectively, for data entry work with an average of 5 key depressions per word. Candidates who clear the Phase 1 exam will be able to take the Skill Test. This will be the minimum eligibility requirement for the Computer Skill Test. This will be the final stage in the EPFO SSA 2025 selection process.
