ICAR Assitant Prelims Exam Pattern 2025
The ICAR Assistant 2025 selection process first stage is the Prelims. The ICAR IARI Assistant Prelims exam pattern consists of objective type, multiple choice questions with a time limit of one hour. The ICAR Assistant Prelims exam pattern 2025 will have four sections - General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and English Comprehension. ICAR Assistant Mains Exam Pattern 2025
Once you clear ICAR Assistant Prelims you will be called for Mains exam. The ICAR IARI Assistant Mains exam pattern consists of two papers - Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 will be conducted in online mode and Paper 2 in offline mode. The IARI Assistant Mains exam pattern Paper 1 will have 2 sections - Quantitative Abilities and English Language & Comprehension (Objective Type) with a time limit of 2 hours. The Paper 2 will be of Descriptive Paper in English or Hindi with a time limit of 1 hour. More details on the ICAR Assistant Mains exam pattern 2025 can be deduced from the table below.

Note: In Paper 2 of ICAR Assistant Mains2025, candidates must mention their correct Roll Number, signature and Left-hand Thumb Impression in the relevant columns in the Answer Book.
Skill Test
You also need to undergo a skill test to be selected as Assistant In ICAR IARI exam 2025. The Computer Proficiency Test /CPT will consist of 3 sections - Word Processing, Spreadsheet and Generation of Slides. Each section will be of 15 minutes conducted one after the other. CPT is qualifying in nature and you need to qualify in all the sections.
Note: Skill Test is mandatory. No exemption from CPT is allowed for any PwBD category of PwD candidates.
Mode of Selection
The ICAR Assistant Prelims marks will be on percentile basis. Candidates selected for ICAR Assistant Mains 2025 will be 10 times the number of vacancies. The minimum qualifying marks that you need to score in the ICAR Assistant Prelims and Mains is as follows-

Your Paper 2 of ICAR IARI Assistant 2025 exam will be evaluated only if you have obtained the minimum qualifying marks in Paper 1 of Mains exam. Based on the aggregate performance in Paper 1 and Paper 2 of ICAR Assistant 2025 Mains exam you will be called for the Skill Test. Final merit of ICAR Assistant 2025 exam will be prepared on the basis of marks scored by a candidate in Paper 1 and Paper 2 of the ICAR IARI Assistant 2025 Mains Examinations.
Negative Marking
The ICAR Assistant Prelims will have a negative marking of 1/3rd for every wrong answer that you attempt. The ICAR Assistant Mains Paper 1 too has a negative marking of 1/3rd for each wrong answer. Further details on the ICAR Assistant exam marking scheme is given below.

Exam Language
The ICAR Assistant 2025 exam will be bilingual in nature i.e can be attempted in English and Hindi except for English Comprehension. The Mains exam Paper 2 of ICAR IARI recruitment 2025 will have the option of answering the full paper either in Hindi or in English. No marks will be given for answering the paper partially in Hindi and partially in English.
