    Indian Air Force Airmen Recruitment 2024

    Indian Air Force has invited an online application from all eligible Male Unmarried candidates for recruitment to the post of Airmen in Group ‘X’(Except Education Instructor Trade) and Group ‘Y’ (Except IAF Security and Musician Trades) Trades. Eligible and interested candidates can apply for the Indian Air Force Airmen selection process 2024 by visiting the official website. The revised exam dates for Indian Air force Airmen under ‘X' and ‘Y’ groups have been announced. The exam is going to be held from July 12, 2021, to July 18, 2021.     Indian Air Force Airmen Exam Pattern 2024

    The Indian Air Force Airmen selection process 2024 will take place in three phases.

    • Phase I
    • Phase II
    • Phase III

    Indian Air Force Airmen Phase 1

    Phase I of Indian Air Force Airmen recruitment is an online test for both Group ‘ X’ Trades (except Education Instructor Trade) and Group ‘Y’ (except IAF(S) and Musician Trades). The Indian Air Force Airmen online exam will be objective type. The questions asked will be bilingual i.e English and Hindi except for English Language section. A demonstration video on the conduct of Indian Air Force Airmen online test will be made available on the CASB web portal www.airmenselection.cdac.in to make you aware of the exam pattern and question level.

    You will be awarded one mark for every correct answer and no marks for an unattempted question. 1/4th or 0.25 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. You need to qualify in each paper separately in your respective groups to be eligible for Phase II. The details of the online test are as follows.

    Indian Air Force Airmen Phase 2

    After the declaration of the Indian Air Force Airmen result of Phase-I, shortlisted candidates will be sent a new admit card on their Registered e-mail IDs for phase - II test at a designated Airmen Selection Centre for Physical Fitness Test (PFT) whose details are mentioned below.

    Physical Fitness Test (PFT)
    1.6 Km run to be completed within 06 minutes 30 seconds 10 Push-ups 10 Sit-ups 20 Squat

    You are also required to bring a signed consent form prior to appearing in the physical fitness test along with other documents as asked. Also if you are below 18 years then the consent form shall be signed by your parents/guardian. If you pass the Physical Fitness Test you need to undertake two Adaptability Tests.

    Indian Air Force Airmen Phase 3

    Once you clear Indian Air Force Airmen Phase II you will be called for Phase III which is a Medical examination. Medical examination will be conducted by Indian Air Force Medical Team as per IAF medical standards. The medical officer and the specialist doctors of Armed Forces are the final authorities to declare you fit or unfit. If you are declared medically unfit you can avail the option to ‘Appeal Medical Board’ (AMB) against your unfitness by depositing Rs. 40/- in a Government Treasury/ RBI/ SBI through Military Receivable Order (MRO).

    The Airmen selection for group X & Y was released in January and the online application window has already been closed now. The IAF Airmen Exam for Group X & Y trades was initially supposed to be conducted from 18th - 22nd April 2021. It was unfortunately postponed due to the covid.     Indian Air Force Airmen salary 2024

    After you clear all stages of Indian Air Force Airmen selection process you will undergo a training session where you will be paid a stipend of Rs. 14,600/- per month. On completion of training the starting gross emoluments for Indian Air Force Airmen recruitment in Group ‘X’ and Group ‘Y’ is as follows-

Perks such as ration, clothing, medical facilities, accommodation, Canteen facilities, leave, recreational facilities will be provided to Indian Air Force Airmen. A group insurance cover of Rs 50 Lakhs at a premium of Rs. 3200/- per month is given to all Indian Air Force airmen.

    • The candidate should have completed the course from a Government recognized Polytechnic institute with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in diploma course (or in Intermediate/Matriculation, if English is not a subject in Diploma Course).
    Group ‘Y’ [Except IAF(S) and Musician Trades
    • Passed Intermediate / 10+2 / Equivalent Examination in any stream/subjects approved by Central / State Education Boards listed as COBSE member with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English. OR
    • Passed two years vocational course from Education Boards listed as COBSE member with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in vocational course or in Intermediate/Matriculation if English is not a subject in Vocational Course
    Group ‘Y’ Medical Assistant Trade Only Passed 10+2/Intermediate/ equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English from an Education Board listed as COBSE member with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.

    If you are eligible for Indian Air Force Airmen under Group ‘X’ exam (on the basis of 10+2), you are eligible for Group ‘Y’ post also. In that case you will be given an option of appearing in both Group ‘X’ and Group ‘Y’ exam of Indian Air Force Airmen in one sitting. Also, diploma holders are eligible to appear for Indian Air Force Airmen Group ‘X’ trades only.

    Note - Please note that exact aggregate percentage of marks before decimal as in your 10+2/Intermediate/ Equivalent Examination marks sheet will only be considered.

    Indian Air Force Airmen Age Limit

    It is very important for you to check the Indian Air Force Airmen age limit criteria as prescribed by the Indian Air Force. If you are born between 16 January 2001 and 29 December 2004 (both days inclusive), you are eligible to apply.     Number of Attempts

    There is no such limitation as per CASB on the number of attempts for the candidates in IAF Airmen Group X & Y exam. The candidates can apply and appear for the exam until their age criteria can be fulfilled. Once they reach the maximum age, candidates will not be eligible to appear in the IAF Airmen X-Y exam after that.
