MAT Exam Pattern 2024

Please note that:
- The Duration of the exam is 2 hours 30 minutes.
- Merit Score in the MAT exam is calculated on the basis of 4 sections only - Language Comprehension, Mathematical skills, Data Analysis and Sufficiency, and Intelligence and Critical Reasoning.
- For a cut-off above the 90 percentile, a candidate is required to score more than 100 marks in the 4 sections mentioned above, while the 5th section on the Indian and Global Environment is not counted in the percentile calculation.
- The score of Indian & Global Environment is separately shown but is not taken into account to calculate the merit or percentile in the MAT scorecard.
MAT Exam Syllabus 2024
The MAT exam syllabus covers five main subjects: Language Comprehension, Mathematical Skills, Data Analysis & Sufficiency, Intelligence & Critical Reasoning, and Indian & Global Environment. In Language Comprehension, the focus is on understanding passages and grammar. Mathematical Skills include topics like arithmetic, geometry, and algebra. Data Analysis & Sufficiency tests interpretation and data handling abilities. Intelligence & Critical Reasoning assesses logical thinking and problem-solving. Modes of Examination in MAT Exam 2024
Candidates have the option to take the MAT through either of the following formats:
(i) Remote Proctored Internet Based Test (IBT)
(ii) Paper Based Test (PBT)
(iii) Computer Based Test (CBT)
(iv) Paper Based Test and Remote Proctored Internet Based Test (PBT+IBT)
(v) Double Remote Proctored Internet Based Test (IBT+IBT)
(vi) Computer Based Test and Remote Proctored Internet Based Test (CBT+IBT)
(vii) Paper Based Test and Computer Based Test (PBT+CBT)
Remote Proctored Internet-Based Test (IBT)
The Remote Proctored Internet Based Test (IBT) for the MAT Exam offers candidates the convenience of taking the test from their own homes. Through this format, candidates can sit for the exam using a computer or laptop connected to the internet. A remote proctor supervises the test-taking process to ensure its integrity and security. Candidates need a stable internet connection and a suitable environment free from distractions. This mode of examination provides flexibility while maintaining the rigour and credibility of the MAT assessment. Paper Based Test (PBT)

- Candidates have the choice to add another test mode (like IBT+IBT, PBT+CBT, IBT+PBT, IBT+CBT) by paying an extra fee of ₹1200/- on top of the ₹2100/-. Those who choose this option can pick two more Management Institutes to send their scores to, making it a total of seven choices instead of five.
