Candidates from certain reserved categories are also given age relaxations on their upper age limit as per the NICL Assistant legibility criteria and several other government recruiting bodies. The age relaxations provided to different candidates from different categories are given in the table below. Candidates are urged to take a look at them carefully.
Note:
- In cases where a candidate is liable to be considered under more than one category for age relaxation, then age relaxation will be cumulative. In other words, if a candidate belongs to more than one category by virtue of which he/ she is eligible for age relaxation, then he / she shall be cumulatively eligible for all such relaxations applicable to him / her. However, even while undergoing cumulative age relaxation, there cannot be a case where the upper age limit exceeds 45 years in all cases. This is the reason why this upper age limit is strictly adhered to, and if the candidate crosses that limit even by multiple relaxations then he or she will not be eligible for the position of NICL Assistant.
- The candidates who desire to take benefit through this age relaxation have to submit documentary evidence at the time of application. Specifically, they need to submit photocopies of the required certificate(s) that endorse their eligibility for the relaxation of age at the time of making an application. Additionally, they would be required to submit the original copies of these certificates during the Regional Language Test or at any later stage in the process of selection.
