RRB JE Notification
Every year RRB releases notification for the post of JE. This is a golden opportunity to work in the Railway Department for all the candidates who want to start their career in the government sector. The RRB JE short notification was released in July 2024. As per the short notification, the deadline for applying for the RRB JE exam will be open from July 30, 2024 to August 29, 2024. The detailed notification will have all the other important details that a candidate must go through before applying like the eligibility criteria, exam information and so on. Since RRB recruits staff in its various post which includes Junior Engineer or JE, Junior Engineer (Information Technology) or JE(IT), Depot Material Superintendent or DMS and Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant or CMA so a candidate should make sure for which post he/she is eligible.

How to Apply: Apply Now (Stepwise)
Candidates can apply for the notified posts of RRB JE only through online mode by visiting the official website of RRB. Candidates should read all the information and instructions details thoroughly before filling out the RRB JE application form. With the impending release of the RRB JE detailed notification, aspirants need to know some details regarding the filling up of the application form. Further details have been mentioned below:
- A candidate should select the RRB to which they wish to apply.
- A candidate should ensure they select the correct RRB as once selected it cannot be changed after the preliminary registration of RRB JE is complete and the registration number is allotted.
- Confirm that you have understood the instructions clearly by clicking on the checkbox.
- Click on new registration and enter the name, date of birth and father’s name mother’s name, Aadhaar number and other information asked and click on submit for registration.
- A candidate should ensure that before submitting for RRB JE registration all the information furnished is correct as the details cannot be cannot later.
- A candidate's email and mobile number should be verified during the RRB JE online application process with a One Time Password (OTP).
- The candidate should enter the OTP to proceed with filling up RRB JE application.
- Candidates can proceed with the online application of RRB JE by clicking on the already registered option by entering the registration number and password.
- Part I of RRB JE application form provides the details of educational qualification, gender, religion, category and age relaxation eligibility category and a candidate should fill it to proceed to Part II.
- In Part II of RRB JE application form, exam group (If a candidate is eligible to more than one exam group), priority/ preferences for posts details must be furnished.
- On completion of RRB JE application details, the candidate will be directed to the payment page to choose payment mode which can be online as well as offline mode.
- Chose the mode of payment and pay the RRB JE application fee.
- A candidate paying RRB JE application fee offline must furnish the bank details for refund of the RRB JE application fee in their online application form.
- Scanned Documents in JPEG format of candidate photograph in color of size 20KB to 50KB, signature of size 10KB to 40KB, SC/ST Certificate (only for candidates seeking free travel pass) of size 50 to 100KB should be ready while filling the RRB JE application form.
- A self-declaration by the candidate should be submitted in the format provided in the RRB JE notification in the application form of RRB JE.PDF copy of the RRB JE application form can be saved by the candidate.
RRB JE Exam Pattern & Syllabus
RRB JE exam will be conducted in two stages-1st -Computer Based Test or CBT and 2nd-Computer Based Test followed by Document Verification/Medical Examination as applicable. The venue, date and time for computer-based test and document verification will be decided according to the detailed notification which is expected to be released by July 30, 2024. and any request for a change of venue, date and shift will not be entertained. Given below are the four stages of the RRB JE Exam 2024:

RRB JE 2024 Phase 1
The Phase 1 of the RRB JE exam is of online mode i.e. computer based objective type. RRB JE phase 1 consists of four sections-Mathematics, General Science, General Awareness, Reasoning and General Intelligence. The total number of questions in phase 1 of the RRB JE is 100 with 90 minutes time limit for all the candidates except PwBD. PwBD candidates have 120 minutes. This phase of RRB JE is screening in which the marks obtained in phase 1 of the RRB JE will be used for shortlisting the candidate for phase 2 of the RRB JE exam. The questions for the first phase of RRB JE will be generally in accordance with the educational and/or minimum technical qualifications prescribed for the posts. There is a penalty of 1/3rd of the marks allotted in RRB JE first stage for every wrong answer. This Phase of RRB JE is common for all the posts.

RRB JE 2024 Phase 2
Candidates shortlisted for the Phase 2 of RRB JE exam shall be 15 times the number of vacancies for each post in the respective categories.The 2nd phase of RRB JE will also be of objective type online mode. RRB JE second phase consists of five sections-Physics and Chemistry, General Awareness, Basics of Computer and Applications, Basics of Environment and Pollution Control, Technical Abilities. The time limit for the second phase of RRB JE is 120 minutes for 150 questions. A candidate will have the facility of using the virtual calculator in the second stage of RRB JE.1/3rd of the marks allotted for each question shall be deducted for each wrong answer as a penalty in RRB JE second phase. Technical abilities questions will be framed in the syllabus defined for various Exam Groups given.

RRB JE Phase 1 Syllabus

RRB JE Phase 2 Syllabus
The second phase of RRB JE is very important as it is the final stage. Since the 2nd phase of RRB JE consists of different sections so the syllabus will be different from RRB JE phase 1. RRB comes out with recruitment of RRB JE in different posts so each specific post will have a different syllabus in the Technical Ability Section. RRB JE Document Verification/Medical Examination
A candidate will be called for document verification where he/she must undergo a medical fitness test to be appointed as RRB JE. This medical fitness test for RRB JE will be conducted by the Railway Administration to make sure that the candidate is medically fit to carry out the duties assigned to him/her. Ex-Servicemen will have a different medical standard which is available on the official website of the railway. The Candidate will be called for DV/Medical Exam based on the normalized marks obtained by him/her in the phase 2of RRB JE.
RRB JE Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility is the most important part of any competitive exam. A candidate should ensure that he/she fulfils all the eligibility criteria related to the age and education or any other as asked in the RRB JE recruitment so that the candidature is not cancelled at a later stage. RRB JE Age Criteria
The age limit for RRB JE lies between 18 to 33 for general category candidate as on the date that will be mentioned in the official notification of the RRB JE. RRB JE Age Relaxation
Like all other competitive exams, RRB JE also has a provision of age relaxation for reserved categories. This age relaxation is on the upper age limit. If a candidate is eligible for age relaxation on more than one ground, he/she would be provided with the highest age relaxations for which he/she is eligible. No age relaxation is allowed to SC/ST/OBC-NCL (Non Creamy Layer) candidates if they apply against unreserved vacancies.

RRB JE Calendar
The detailed official notification of RRB JE will contain all the details regarding the exam date, registration and closing dates of the RRB JE application form, dates etc. A candidate is advised to fill the online application RRB JE form before the closing day to avoid any last minute rush.
