SIDBI Grade A Eligibility Criteria: Nationality
A candidate must be either
(i) a citizen of India or
(ii) a subject of Nepal or
(iii) a subject of Bhutan or
(iv) a Tibetan refugee (who came over to India before 1st January1962) with the intention of permanently settling in India; or
(v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malwi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) or (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India. A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the examination / interview conducted by SIDBI but on final selection, the offer of appointment may be given only after the necessary eligibility certificates have been issued to him / her by the Government of India.
SIDBI Grade A Eligibility Criteria: Age Limit
SIDBI has set certain SIDBI Grade A eligibility criteria regarding the age of candidates as well. The age limit for candidates applying for the position of Officer in Grade ‘A’ is set as of November 08, 2024. Applicants must be at least 21 years old and not older than 30 years to be eligible for this role.
This means that only those born on or after November 08, 1994, and on or before November 09, 2003, inclusive of both dates, are eligible to apply for the position.

SIDBI Grade A Age Relaxation
SIDBI offers age relaxation on the specified age limit for candidates from certain categories as part of the SIDBI Assistant Manager eligibility criteria. To understand the number of years of relaxation granted to each eligible category, candidates should refer to the table given below

Note: Here a few points to keep in mind for those availing the SIDBI Grade A age relaxation
The maximum age limitation that is mentioned is in regard to General and Economically Weaker Sections applicants.
Applicants for the Age relaxation need to furnish appropriate certificate(s) at the time of interview as mentioned under the SIDBI Grade A eligibility criteria. Relevant original and photocopies may be required during any or all subsequent rounds of recruitment process as deemed appropriate by SIDBI.
Applicants of SC, ST, OBC and PWBD categories, while furnishing the requisite caste/category certificate, may be issued by the appropriate competent authority in the Government of India's prescribed formats only as per the SIDBI Assistant Manager eligibility criteria. OBC candidates must ensure that their certificate would clearly have an exemption clause that they do not fall under the "creamy layer" that is exempted from reservation benefits in civil posts and services under the Government of India. OBC category candidates falling under the creamy layer are not eligible to receive any kind of OBC reservation benefit under the SIDBI Assistant Manager eligibility criteria. They must mention their category as "General" while filling up the online application form. Candidates should have a valid OBC certificate issued with the condition of Non-Creamy Layer.
For grade 'A' officers, applicants should be between the age group of 21-30 years. Only candidates born between November 08, 1994 and November 09, 2003 will be considered for this post as part of the SIDBI eligibility criteria.
Ex-servicemen candidates who have applied for vacancies even before their first civilian employment can avail themselves of reservation benefits for ex-servicemen in subsequent employment under the SIDBI Grade A eligibility criteria. To do that, they will need to provide a self-declaration furnishing date-wise details of all such applications filed even before joining the first civilian employment. This reservation benefit is available only for direct recruitment vacancies for which ex-servicemen reservation is applicable. Again, there is no ex-servicemen reservation for Officers' Cadre in the SIDBI Assistant Manager eligibility criteria.
Relaxation for age is not available on a cumulative basis as per the SIDBI Assistant Manager eligibility criteria except as mentioned in the above table and for departmental/staff candidates, who are eligible for an additional five-year relaxation, as a matter of policy for Government of India guidelines.
