SSC MTS Salary 2024
The SSC MTS notification for 2024 has been released. The notification includes important details regarding the upcoming SSC MTS exam like exam dates, eligibility criteria, and exam pattern and syllabus. As per the notification, an SSC Multi Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff will hold a salary of Pay Level-1 as per Pay Matrix of 7th Pay Commission). The Pay band of SSC MTS is 5200 - 20200 and the Grade Pay is of 1800 rupees and as per the 7th pay commission, the in-hand salary of an SSC MTS employee will come around to Rs. 18000 to 22000. It will be a General Central Service Group ‘C’ Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial post in various Ministries/ Departments/ Offices of the Government of India and various Constitutional Bodies/ Statutory Bodies/ Tribunals, etc.
The SSC Havaldar will also draw a Pay Level-1 salary as per the Pay Matrix of the 7th Pay Commission. It is also a General Central Service Group ‘C’ Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial post in the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) and Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN) under the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance. Along with the salary, you will be given various perks and allowances.

SSC MTS Job Profile
An SSC MTS performs duty in the department as Junior Gestetner Operator, Chowkidar, Safaiwala, Peon, Daftary, Jamadar, and others. An SSC MTS has to perform the following duties.
- As a member of the SSC MTS staff, one of the responsibilities is to maintain and organize physical records within the department. This involves ensuring that all files, documents and records are properly organized, labeled and accessible when needed.
- SSC MTS personnel provide assistance to fellow employees in a variety of routine tasks in the office, both manually and electronically. This may include maintaining daily paperwork, scheduling appointments, handling remittances and ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day office activities.
- They are also responsible for moving supplies in and out of the building and office. This job may involve distributing government documents, packages, or other items to various locations as needed.
- SSC MTS staff handle photography and prepare necessary documents as required. In addition, they may engage in sending and receiving faxes for official communication.
- SSC MTS employees with a valid driving license may be assigned to drive official vehicles for official purposes, such as delivering documents or transporting employees
- In addition to these duties, SSC MTS employees may be assigned to perform various non-clerical duties within their assigned section or unit. These tasks may be specific to the specific needs of the department.
- SSC MTS employees also play a role in watch ward duties to ensure the safety and security of the workplace. They may control entry and exit points and oversee security procedures.
- Keeping the office premises neat and tidy is another responsibility of SSC MTS employees. This includes cleaning rooms, workstations, and common areas to maintain a clean and organized environment.
- SSC MTS employees are required to perform other tasks or duties as assigned by their superiors. This may include temporary assignment of responsibilities based on departmental needs and priorities.
SSC MTS Career Growth
SSC provides MTS employees with opportunities for career development and growth within the department. After about 5 to 6 years of service, an SSC MTS employee is promoted to Lower Division Clerk (LDC). This promotion is based on their performance and dedication to their time.
Also, one can aspire to become an MTS Upper Division Clerk (UDC) by giving promotional exams conducted in the department. Alternatively, it is also possible that they will be promoted to an administrative position in the UDC after completion of the prescribed period, provided the employee has demonstrated satisfactory performance. This meant that they were recognized for their exemplary service and outstanding contributions, which led to higher status and responsibility.

SSC Multi-Task Staff (MTS) is a Group 'C' non-gazetted, non-ministerial post falling under pay band-1 (Rs. 5200 – 20200) with grade pay of Rs.1800 from the estimated pay of SSC for MTS of Rs.18,000 22,000,000. The SSC MTS pay scale depends on the type of city or area where the employees are posted, which is divided into cities X, Y and Z. The pay breakdown and pay scales and allowances are given in the following table .
