UPSC EPFO/ESIC JTO Vacancy 2023

There are a total of 86 UPSC EPFO vacancies available for the position of Junior Translation Officer in the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation, Ministry of Labour & Employment. The distribution of vacancies is as follows: SC-14, ST-09, OBC-28, EWS-12, UR-23. Out of the eighty-six vacancies, four vacancies are reserved for candidates belonging to the Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) category. These reserved vacancies are suitable for individuals with specific disabilities.

There are a total of 76 vacancies for the post of Junior Translation Officer. These vacancies are distributed among different categories as follows: SC-08, ST-07, OBC-20, EWS-05, and UR-36. UPSC EPFO/ESIC JTO Eligibility Criteria

Nationality 

A Candidate must be either: 

(a) a citizen of India, or 

(b) a subject of Nepal, or 

(c) a subject of Bhutan, or

(d) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before January 1, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or 

(e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka or East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania(formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

To be eligible for the Junior Translation Officer position, candidates must possess the following educational qualifications:

  • Master's Degree from a recognized University in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level. OR
  • Master's Degree from a recognized University in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level. OR
  • Master's Degree from a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level. OR
  • Master's Degree from a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with English medium and Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level. OR
  • Master's Degree from a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects or either of the two as a medium of examination and the other as a compulsory or elective subject at the degree level. In addition to the educational qualifications, candidates should also have a Diploma or Certificate course in translation from Hindi to English and vice versa from a recognized University or institute. Alternatively, candidates should possess two years of experience in translation work from Hindi to English and vice versa in a Central or State Government office, including the Government of India Undertaking.

Note: The Union Public Service Commission may relax the qualifications if the candidates are otherwise well qualified, based on the discretion of the commission.

UPSC EPFO/ESIC JTO Age Limit 

The maximum age limit to apply for the UPSC ESIC Junior Translation Officer 2023 is 30 years. Candidates must ensure that they are below the age of 30 as of July 14, 2023, in order to be eligible for the position. The UPSC JTO exam for the year --cy-- follows a two-stage selection process, consisting of a written examination and an Interview.

  • Written Examination : The written examination is the initial stage of the selection process. It is conducted to assess the candidates' knowledge, language proficiency, translation skills, and general awareness.

  • Interview:  Candidates who qualify in the written examination will be called for the Interview round. The purpose of the interview is to evaluate the candidates' communication skills, subject knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and suitability for the role of a Junior Translation Officer. The syllabus for the UPSC Junior Translation Officer exam includes various subjects. UPSC JTO Exam Dates --cy--

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will conduct a combined recruitment test for the mentioned posts through an offline pen and paper-based examination. UPSC EPFO/ESIC JTO Job Profile

  • The primary responsibility of a Junior Translation Officer is to translate a wide range of materials from Hindi to English and vice versa. This includes documents, reports, official correspondence, circulars, notices, and other relevant materials within the branch. Accuracy, clarity, and maintaining the intended meaning are crucial during the translation process.
  • Junior Translation Officers may provide support to the Assistant Director or Deputy Director (Official Language) at the Headquarters Office. This assistance involves reviewing translations, proofreading documents, ensuring linguistic correctness, and addressing language-related queries or issues within the office.
  • Junior Translation Officers are assigned tasks by higher-level officials such as the Director, Joint Director, Deputy Director, or Assistant Director (Official Language) in various ESIC offices, including Regional Offices, Sub Regional Offices, Hospitals, and other related establishments. These tasks may include translating specific documents, preparing bilingual reports, providing language support during meetings or events, or assisting with language-related projects.

UPSC EPFO/ESIC JTO Salary 2023

As mentioned in the official notification of EPFO recruitment 2023, the selected candidate for the position of Junior Translation Officer will be offered a monthly salary in level 06 of the pay matrix. The pay scale for this level ranges from Rs. 35,400 to Rs. 1,12,400. This salary structure is in accordance with the guidelines set by EPFO and the designated level in the pay matrix indicates the corresponding salary and allowances for the Junior Translation Officer position. How to Apply for the UPSC EPFO/ESIC JTO Recruitment 2023?

  • Candidates must apply online through the website http://www.upsconline.nic.in. Applications submitted through any other mode will not be accepted and will be rejected.
  • During the application process, candidates are required to upload supporting documents/certificates for each claim made. The documents should be uploaded in PDF format and should not exceed 1 MB for the respective modules, except for the "UPLOAD OTHER DOCUMENT" module, which should not exceed 2 MB. The documents should be legible when printed and scanned at 200 dpi in grayscale.
  • The following documents/certificates need to be uploaded:

a) Matriculation/10th Standard or equivalent certificate or mark sheet indicating the date of birth. 

b) Degree/Diploma certificate as proof of educational qualification. 

c) Order/letter indicating the equivalent qualification, if applicable. 

d) Certificate(s) in the prescribed format from the head(s) of the organization(s)/department(s) for the claimed experience, mentioning the duration, nature of duties, and consolidated pay. 

e) Caste certificate in the prescribed proforma, if seeking reservation as SC/ST/OBC. 

f) Declaration in the prescribed format by OBC candidates regarding non-creamy layer status. 

g) Certificate of Disability in the prescribed proforma for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD). 

h) Supporting documents for any other claims made.

  • If any document or certificate is not in Hindi or English, a transcript attested by a Gazetted officer or notary must be uploaded.
  • Note: The closing date for the receipt of the online application will be considered the crucial date.
  • The last date for printing the completely submitted online application for the Junior Translation Officer position is 11: 59 p.m. on July 17, 2023. Candidates must ensure that they complete the online application process and generate a printout of the submitted application before this deadline. It is advisable to keep a copy of the printed application for future reference and as proof of submission. 

Application Fee

Candidates are required to pay a fee of Rs. 25 only for the UPSC EPFO Junior Translation Officer application. The fee can be paid either by cash at any branch of SBI, through the net banking facility of SBI, or using a visa/master credit/debit card. However, SC/ST/PwBD/Women candidates of any community are exempted from paying the fee. It is important to note that General/OBC/EWS male candidates are required to pay the full prescribed fee and are not eligible for fee exemption. Applications submitted without the prescribed fee will be rejected, and no requests for fee refund will be entertained under any circumstances.
