    Amount of water = depth of water × Area  Available moisture is 24 cm/m and depth of effective root zone depth is 1.5 m  Soil moisture isn effective root zone depth = 24 × 1.5 = 30 cm Depth of soil moisture = 30 cm = 0.3 m and area = 3 ha = 30, 000 m² So amount  of water in root zone in 3 ha area = 0.3 × 30,000 = 9000 mᶾ  = 90,00,000 litre = 90 lakh litre
