Nominal Group Technique is a variation of brainstorming technique. It is a structured process of obtaining the group’s opinions, ideas, suggestions, etc. Unlike brainstorming, in Nominal Group technique, each member is acquainted with the problem or issue under consideration and is required to pen down his opinion and suggestion on a piece of paper. To reach an agreement, every single problem is addressed one at a time to a point where the participants submit all ideas. They then individually rank the ideas on a numerical scale. The ideas that score the highest are regarded as the best and are the ones that the group discusses and confirms.
