A Even up Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
B Line up Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C Make up Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D Even off Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
E No correction required Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

    (c) In statement I, the phrase ‘even out’ means ‘to become level’. The sentence implies that the stone constitutes the temple. So, the phrase does not make any sense. In statement II, the phrase ‘patch up’ is incorrectly used. It means ‘to deal with (a problem, disagreement, etc.) in order to improve or repair a relationship’ The sentence implies that they wanted to compensate the missed time. So, the phrase does not make any sense. In statement III, present participle ‘using’ is incorrectly used after preposition ‘to’. Hence, it is incorrect as well. The phrase ‘make up’ means ‘(of parts) compose or constitute a whole; compensate for something lost, missed, or deficient; put together or prepare something from parts ’. It goes with the context of the sentences given above. Hence, option C is the correct answer.
