According to CRISIL, India’s real gross domestic product (GDP) growth may decelerate to six percent in fiscal 2024 from the seven percent estimated by the National Statistical Organisation (NSO) for fiscal 2023. CRISIL’s estimate is lower than the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) growth projection of 6.4 per cent for fiscal 2024 with risks broadly balanced. CRISIL projected that consumer inflation, or prices measured by Consumer Price Index (CPI), is expected to moderate to five percent next fiscal (FY24) from 6.8 per cent this fiscal (FY23).
