The Indian Space Research Organisation (Isro) geared up for another commercial launch when it carried the Singaporean Earth Observation satellite TeLEOS-02 on board the workhorse Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle. The launch took place on April 22 from the first launch pad at the country’s only spaceport Sriharikota. The satellite on board will be TeLEOS 2—a 750kg earth observation satellite that has synthetic aperture radar capable of providing data in 1-metre resolution. This was the 57th launch of PSLV which has proven to be one of Isro’s most reliable vehicles, having launched hundreds of satellites and only three failures or partial failures since 1993.
