Baba Saheb Ambedkar Yatra Bharat Gaurav Tourist train flagged from New Delhi on the occasion of birth anniversary of Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar. The train was flagged off by Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Dr. Virendra Kumar and Tourism, Culture, and Development of North Eastern Region Minister G. Kishan Reddy from Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station in New Delhi. Under the Dekho Apna Desh initiative, the train will cover some of the prominent sites associated with the life of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar. About Dekho Apna Desh initiative Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on February 1st, 2023, announced advancements in the "Dekho Apna Desh" scheme. The scheme aims to promote tourism and encourage people to explore the rich cultural heritage and diversity of India. This scheme primarily targets the middle-class citizens of the country, encouraging them to travel within India rather than abroad.
