WHO released a new guideline on protecting children from the harmful impact of food marketing. Guideline recommends implementing comprehensive mandatory policies to protect children from marketing of unhealthy foods. WHO advises developing nutrition profile models and regulating marketing of high-fat, high-sugar, high-salt (HFSS) foods. Food marketing negatively affects children's food choices, dietary intake, and norms about food consumption. Guidelines aim to create healthy food environments, promote lifelong healthy eating habits, and reduce noncommunicable diseases.
