Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) has received Extended Producers Responsibility (EPR) credit for recycling banned single-use plastic items after seizing them. IMC is the first urban body in the country to earn credit on the EPR portal for recycling seized plastic. IMC recycled about eight tonnes of single-use plastic in a plant under the public-private partnership (PPP) model. The recycling earned IMC a credit worth Rs 8,100 on the EPR portal of the Central Pollution Control Board. Indore was ranked as India's cleanest city for the sixth consecutive time in the central government's cleanliness survey.
