Surat, Gujarat's diamond trading centre, surpassed the Pentagon as the world's largest office building. The Surat Diamond Bourse is a 15-storey building spread across 35 acres with nine interconnected rectangular structures. It provides a "one-stop destination" for over 65,000 diamond professionals, including cutters, polishers, and traders. The complex comprises over 7.1 million square feet of floor space and has recreational and parking areas. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the building in November after four years of construction. It is a not-for-profit organization established for the promotion of Diamond Bourse in Surat, Gujarat. The building was designed by Indian architecture firm Morphogenesis following an international design competition.
