The Annapurna Food Packet Scheme launched by the Rajasthan Congress government has the primary objective of benefiting 1.10 crore people, which includes poor families identified through the COVID survey and beneficiaries of the National Food Security Act (NFSA). The scheme aims to ensure that there is no hunger in Rajasthan by providing free food packets containing essential items. Each food packet includes 1 kg each of gram pulses, sugar, and iodised salt, along with 1 litre of soybean oil, and 100g each of chilli powder, coriander powder, and 50g of turmeric. The scheme was inaugurated by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot on Independence Day. Its focus is on alleviating hunger and providing essential nutrition to vulnerable populations during the pandemic and beyond.
