Indian Institutes of Management (Amendment) Bill 2023 passed in both houses. National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE) to become Indian Institute of Management, Mumbai (IIM Mumbai). NITIE Mumbai becomes the 21st IIM in India. Institute aims to double student enrollment, enhance infrastructure, and research. Current NITIE students (around 1200) to receive IIM Mumbai certification upon graduation. The Focus is on self-sustainability, introducing new programs, research projects, and industry collaborations.
