IndiGo and Air India, are setting up aircraft leasing units at GIFT City in Gujarat, moves seen bolstering the government’s plan of projecting India as a hub for aircraft leasing. IndiGo, which has some 1,000 aircraft on its order book, will invest ₹30 crore to set up a leasing unit for its aircraft fleet. The company will also issue a corporate guarantee of up to $996 million (about ₹8,000 crore) the payment obligation of the company.
