According to the latest payroll data released by the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), the number of new monthly subscribers under the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) declined by 13.3 per cent to 925,984 in August from 1.06 million in July. Of the 925,984, the share of women declined to 26.3 per cent (243,510) in August from 26.7 per cent (285,424) in July. However, the share of young subscribers belonging to the 18-28 age group stood at 68.3 per cent (632,331) in August, slightly up from the 67.97 per cent (726,415) in July.
