The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a $400-million loan to India for an urban infrastructure project as part of the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (Amrut) 2.0. The programme – Subprogram 2 of the Sustainable Urban Development and Service Delivery – seeks to bolster the government’s efforts undertaken through the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoUHA) to improve urban infrastructure and provide basic urban services like water supply, sanitation, and transport.
