• The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) celebrated its 65th Raising Day on May 07, 2024, in New Delhi with Defence Secretary Shri Giridhar Aramane presiding. • The event commemorated the BRO's contribution to relief efforts during the Silkyara Tunnel Collapse and the Sikkim Floods, and its significant role in the Vibrant Villages Programme. • The BRO has evolved into a major infrastructural entity with projects in 11 States and three Union Territories, significantly contributing to India's strategic and developmental goals. • In the fiscal year 2023-24, the BRO successfully completed 125 infrastructure projects valued at Rs 3,611 crore. • Key projects include the Sela Tunnel in Arunachal Pradesh and upcoming projects like the Shinkun La Tunnel, poised to be the world’s highest. • The organisation also focuses on gender equality and inclusivity, with significant contributions from female officers in major projects.
