A significant aspect of ICAR's new initiative is the "one scientist, one product" programme, aimed at improving research in agriculture and animal husbandry. This programme will involve 5,521 scientists who will be given targets for products, technologies, or publications. The initiative also includes the release of 323 new varieties of 56 crops, including 289 climate-resilient and 27 bio-fortified varieties. Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will inaugurate the programme, which will be monitored at both the institute and headquarters levels with a five-year plan in place. Additionally, ICAR has set goals to develop 100 new seed varieties and 100 farm technologies as part of the Centre’s 100-day action plan. The headquarters of ICAR remain in New Delhi.
