Speed of the shorter train = 170/17 = 10 m/sec Let the speed of the longer train be x km/hr According to the question, ⇒ (10 + x) = (170 + 310)/16 ⇒ 10 + x = 480/16 ⇒ x = 30 – 10 = 20 ⇒ x = 20 x 18/5 = 72 km/hr
