    Let the original length and breadth of the rectangle be 8x cm and 5x cm, respectively According to the question, 2 × {(1.2 × 8x) + (0.7 × 5x)} = 131 Or, 9.6x + 3.5x = 65.5 Or, x = 65.5/13.1 = 5 Therefore, original area of the rectangle = 8x × 5x = 40x2 = 1000 cm2
