    Explanation: Under the Skill India Mission, the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship is implementing its flagship scheme Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) to impart skill development training to prospective youth of the country. Since the inception of PMKVY i.e. 2015, as of 31.12.2021, 4.22 lakh candidates have been trained. Ministry does not maintain a database of candidates who have not continued the jobs after being placed. Further, under PMKVY 3.0, in order to enhance the retention of trainees on employment, training centres are incentivized @ Rs. 3000 per trainee post 12 months of trainee retention on employment.
