    Question

In ΔABC, PQ is parallel to BC If AP: PB= 3:7 and AQ= 3

    cm, AC is equal to?
A 7 cm Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
B 10 cm Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
C 9 cm Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
D 24 cm Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

As in ΔABC, PQ is parallel to BC then ΔAPQ is similiar to ΔABC, So by similarity, AP/AB = AQ/AC So 3/(3 + 7) = 3/AC or 3/10 = 3/AC or AC = 10 cm
