ISRO, the Indian Space Research Organization, launched the X-ray Polarimeter Satellite (XpoSat) in January 2024. This mission is India's first dedicated effort to study the polarization of X-rays from cosmic sources, such as black holes and neutron stars. XPoSat aims to provide new insights into the physics of these astronomical objects by measuring the direction and polarization of incoming X-ray photons.
