An offshore oilfield known as Bombay High, now Mumbai High, field is situated in the Arabian Sea about 160 km west of the Mumbai coast in India. The field was found in 1974, started producing in 1976, and is run by the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC). The Russian and Indian crew working aboard the seismic exploration vessel Academic Arkhangelsky made the discovery of the Mumbai High field in February 1974 while exploring the Gulf of Cambay between 1964 and 1967. Two blocks known as Mumbai High North (MHN) and Mumbai High South make up the oil field (MHS).
