• Decathlon is an athletics event which consists of 10 competitions. • It is a two-day event and ten events are divided over two days (five competitions per day). • 100 meters, shootout, discus, javelin, long jump, high jump, Pole vault, hurdle, 400 meters and 1500 meters are the ten events. • The event ordering is different for men and women. • The athletes completing all the events do runs of honour in the end and banking is done according to their points scored. • Kevin Mayer in the men's category and Austra Skujyte in women's category are the current record holders.
