When was the Lahore session held?
The Purna Swaraj declaration is also known as the Declaration of the Independence of India. It was promulgated by the Indian National Congress at the Lahore session under the influence of Jawaharlal Nehru in 1929. The purpose of the declaration was to fight for complete self-rule or Purna Swaraj, independent of British rule. On December 31, 1929, The newly adopted tricolour flag of freedom was hoisted by Jawaharlal Nehru. The resolution was passed at that declaration to observe 26 January as Independence Day. The flag of India was unfurled publicly across India.
