    Seventh Amendment Act of 1956 authorized the parliament to establish a common high court for two or more States or for two or more states and union territory. Parliament may by law establish a common High Court for two or more States or for two or more States and a Union territory. The President after consultation with the CJI & Governor of State. Article 217 of the Indian Constitution states that the Judge of a High Court shall be appointed by the President after consultation with the Chief Justice of India, and the Governor of the State.
