    The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR), a statutory body has been constituted by the Government of India, under the Commission for Protection of Child Rights (CPCR) Act,2005. Hence statement 1 is not correct.   The commission consists of

    •  A chairperson who, is a person of eminence and has done outstanding work for promoting the welfare of children
    •  Six members, out of which at least two should be women, from the following fields, appointed by the Central Government. Hence statement 2 is correct.
