It is the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle, which is being developed by Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), will be delivered to the armed forces by 2020. The drone is being designed for use by all 3 Indian Armed Forces branches, mainly for surveillance, tracking, and reconnaissance operations. It can travel at approximately 280 km/h and carry different payloads. DRDO has successfully flown its Rustom 2 at its Aeronautical Test Range at Challakere in Chitradurga district of Karnataka. On the lines of the American Predator drones, India has produced a medium-altitude long-endurance unmanned aerial vehicle, Rustom 2 or TAPAS-BH-201. Rustom 2 is capable of carrying out continuous surveillance and can carry weapons along with monitoring equipment.
