He won Eastern Indian Bodybuilding Championship in 1939. He obtained the All India Bodybuilding Championship in 1947. • Roy moved to the UK in 1951, and took part in the Mr. Universe series. He has won the title of Mr. Universe in the category of Group III Amateur Division. • He worked as a mentor in several physical culture clubs after his return to India. He used to educate celebrities on fitness and yoga. In 1958 he established the Federation of Indian Bodybuilding.
