    Air Marshal Jeetendra Mishra has been appointed as the Chief of the Indian Air Force's Western Air Command, effective 1st January 2025. He succeeded Air Marshal Pankaj Mohan Sinha, who retired on 31st December 2024 after over 39 years of distinguished service. Air Marshal Mishra, a fighter pilot commissioned on 6th December 1986, is an alumnus of prestigious institutions such as the National Defence Academy, Air Force Test Pilots School, and Royal College of Defence Studies, UK. He has over 3000 hours of flying experience and has received the 'Ati Vishisht Seva Medal' and 'Vishisht Seva Medal' for his exemplary contributions.
