The State Legislature has concurrent powers as detailed in List III (Concurrent List) of the Seventh Schedule of the Constitution of India. Both Parliament and State Legislatures can enact laws on subjects included in this list. However, in cases of conflict between laws passed by Parliament and State Legislatures, the Parliamentary legislation prevails. For reference, List I (Union List) contains subjects exclusively under Parliamentary jurisdiction, List II (State List) includes matters solely under State Legislature authority, and there is no List IV in the Seventh Schedule.
