    As per s. 106 a revenue inspector is equivalent to a patwari and not a revenue officer. Revenue officers are enlisted under s. 11 of the Chattisgarh Land Revenue Code, 1959. S. 106. Appointment of Revenue Inspectors, etc. - (1) The Collector may appoint to each district as many persons as he thinks fit to be revenue inspectors, town surveyors, assistant town surveyors and measurers to supervise the preparation and maintenance of land records and to perform such other duties as may be prescribed. (2) The town surveyor and assistant town surveyor shall be deemed to be a patwari for the purposes of Sections 28, 109, 110, 112, 118 and 120 in respect of the areas under their charge.   S. 11. Revenue Officers. - There shall be the following classes of the Revenue Officers, namely- Settlement Commissioner (including Additional Settlement Commissioners); Collectors (including Additional Collectors); Settlement Officers; Sub-Divisional Officers; Assistant Collectors; Joint Collectors (including Deputy Collectors); Deputy Settlement Officers; Assistant Settlement Officers; Tahsildars (including Additional Tahsildars); Superintendents of Land Records; Naib Tahsildars; Assistant Superintendents of Lands Records.
