D 10 years Correct Answer Incorrect Answer
E 40 years Correct Answer Incorrect Answer

    Solution

    P says to Q ‘’ I am thrice as sold as you were when I was as old as you are’’ i.e P = 3[Q-(P-Q)] P = 3 [2Q-P] P = 6 Q – 3P 4P = 6 Q…………(i) P + Q = 100…………(ii) From (i) and (ii), we get  P = 40 years and Q = 60 years Hence, difference of their ages = 60 – 40 = 20 years
