    Let present age of father and son be 9x and 4x respectively. According to question, => (9x – 2) (4x – 2) = 34 × (4x – 2) => (9x – 2) = 34 => 9x = 36 => x = 4 Therefore, son’s age 4 years ago = (4x – 4) = 12 years
